I have to disagree since if we game homage to our heritage then it would never end.

Our ancestors were all migrants from another group of people, take the English for example they many of them were descendants of Anglo-Saxons which were made up of Angles, Saxons, and Jutes. Each people also having a history of their own deserving homage.

To me heritage is pretty much nothing more than finding a way to be different when what we should be doing is looking for commonality.

Well the thing is I am part of the American culture not the Japanese one. My parents well one of them was Japanese. That doesn't make me Japanese, it just means I have Japanese blood I was raised in the US.
