It was entirely appropriate for Congressman Mike to apologize on behalf of the country. Similarly, it would have been appropriate for him to apologize for hate crimes against ANY group.

But even so, Islam has received some particularly harsh discrimination in the United States since 9/11. Consider the 'Mosque at Ground Zero', which was protest strictly because it was Islamic. I can't think of a recent church in America that was protested strictly because it was Christian.

Why is it the modern Democrats have this apologizing problem. I can't see JFK saying sorry to Brezhnev, or FDR and Truman saying sorry to the Germans/Japanese. I think Muslims get sympathy/apology because they are always in the news claiming they are misrepresented. Christians never appear in the media protesting that they are misrepresented.
