cool super drivers are here to leave there comments again. Take this into concideration. Myabe the guy isnt thrashing the liveing shite into the machine to save fuel, Its not like hes got a truck waiting for him to be loaded every second so why rush save fuel happy boss. The loads hes putting on arent that bad im a muck shifting job right now loading 3 A25's with a EC140 thats running like a back of crap. have fun super operators half of yas probably dont go further than simulators anyway.
Why is everyone criticizing this guy? I think he is doing a damn good job. I have run a hoe quite a bit myself and he is good by my standards. I have heard good things about the Volvo. Would love to run one sometime.
oh god god 2 mins to load a a40 with half a load at that. obviously doesnt have a clue about production when hes side loadin 40's get twice the load if they backed into him an i half the time
not bad at all but gettin the dipper out a little far the machine is at its least diggin power when ur layed out keep it a little closer like 3/4 ur reach and flatbottom ur bucket let the teeth do the work
i must say its a lil rough but still pretty good overall and loadin theback is better in that it doesnt put imediate strain on the neck of the truck which is the weakest point and counters it as you load it as for volvo they are decent but ill take my cat 385CL ME anyday i run 9'7" mass boom with 8yd bucket hoggin in southern La and never have to use the override switch in any material but volvo is still a good machine take it over deere or case anyday keep up the diggin man
How powerful is such a bucket btw? For instance, how hard could it hit the floor when you would move the bucket downwards with full speed on an asphaltic floor? Could it actually destroy the asphalt? What is the maximum speed of the bucket upwards/downwards?
Thanks much for the info, just curious! :)
That bucket looks so intimidating and scary. wouldn't want to get hit by it.
hey matey, i can give u this info, im a plant mechanic (i fix these machines).. these are hydraulic controled and use up to 3-4-5 thousand PSI if u slameed the bucket on the ground it would be very bad for the machine but yes it would destroy the concrete and the bucket would probably not break, the speed of going up and down is controlled by the driver and it can go up and down pretty fast, faster than what u would see in this vid
and he's right in loading the back first...it's so you dont have to swing all the way to the front as often and keeps the dirt from rolling off the back if the truck doesn't have a tailgate.
no offense but total amateur running the hoe. and vovlo's are junk. we demoed one at my company and the bucket fell off the stupid quick coupler design they have and about killed a guy. you need to get that truck below you or get it so you only swing 45degrees on top. and don't go so deep, take two passes cause it's too far to boom up/takes too long. should take one minute to load that truck with a 70 ton machine.
Very cool video, I do have a question and I'm not trying to be an armchair operator, but why is he digging so wide, instead of making the pass half as wide and letting the trucks pull up along side the 700 instead of backing to it?
The trucks should stand in front, on the ground of the hole. that would minimize rotation and save pull up hight. load one truck from the left and the next from the right and so on.
@JimBruce42 agree, think i would have made it half the width and stood closer to the edge on hes left, would be shorter turn and faster to get truck in place :)
Also maby backup a bit more, he digs so close to the mashine.
thats a big girl!!!

I run a Volvo this one sounds like it's low on hydraulic oil, I like my machine but think Volvo could do with a few improvements

Lenta y poca fuerza. No se justifican los 500l de combustible que se toma cada día.
Con razón es tan barata de compra.

why is he loading the back first?
Cat385operator 3 years ago
He is concentrating the load on the rear axels instead of on the stearing part in the front.....

to jimbruice42.
its faster this way, alongside you´d have to either rotate to much on each turn, or go over the dumptruck cabin, which is a big "no go"
