  • Looks just like him..

  • I don't like rap or hip hop very much, and know nothing about Mos Def's music/career (except I've heard of him), but what a fantastic actor! He happens to nail this role as Chuck Berry - even looks like him!

  • I thought Mos Def was an awesome actor after I saw "Something the Lord Made." I loved his Chuck Berry!!!

  • Mos Def is a good rapper but a better actor. He did Chuck Berry justice in Cadillac Records

  • Wow mos def can act!!!!

  • @howlingsandy He open the door for Chuck and Little Richard?...your medicine cabnit must be good what part of history says that?

  • @thelivingfire UM HOW IS CHUCK BERRY A thief

  • @thelivingfire STFU. So who's the king then? Elvis? He started fucking with his ex wife when she was jail bait so don't even go there!

  • @LadyofWar1980 Well defiantly not Elvis I remember reading that his manger saying, “before I found Elvis I knew I needed to find a white man who could sing and dance like a black man and that’s when I found Elvis”

  • @thelivingfire It's this way: SAM PHILLIPS of Sun Studios, Memphis first recorded so MANY legends, white, black etc. HE said, (quote) "Find me a white man who can sing negro music with the negro feeling, and I will be a billionaire". EARLY Elvis sang and covered (as faithfully as he could, always admittedly) 3 rockers by ACTUAL "Father of Rock & Roll' ARTHUR 'BIG BOY' CRUDUP. In interviews, Elvis credited his songs to "colored people," mainly Arthur. THAT opened doors for CHUCK & LITTLE RICHARD

  • @howlingsandy

I don't take anything away from Mister Sam and Elvis but they didn't do anything for Chuck Berry and Little Richard. That was two different white boys named Phil Chess and Art Rupe.

  • @coy0te9 (Genre PR/artist's ethnicity crossover-marketing doors). Arthur Goldberg's (then Rupe, old family name) Specialty Records began w/gospel & "race records," black listener market, later rock. Fiszel Czyż (Phil Chess w/bro/dad)'s 3 labels marketed R&B/blues to black customers, later rock. Yes, both "white boys" if you dumb down resumes (wink) Sam Phillips specifically sought "an" Elvis, whose 3 earliest gold records were faithful covers of OPENLY-praised CREDITED inspiration Arthur Crudup.

  • @howlingsandy credited though never got one royalty, ever, in his lifetime, for his (Arthur Crudup's) blues or rock classics, covered by just about everybody at some point.

  • @LadyofWar1980 I never said i liked elvis dumbass.

  • @thelivingfire Did I say that, dumbass? And if you feel so strongly about Chuck why the fuck did you even watch this video?

  • I really could not imagine someone telling me that I could not play or go into somewhere becuz of my skin tone

  • this sceen reminds me of a Dave Chappelle skit

  • What does that man say at 0:58?

  • "You Part Kon Man Too" meaning a Kon Artist.

  • he "said are you part con man too"

  • conivict maybe...

  • The movie should of have way more of Chuck and forgotten about stupid Beyonce, she was a joke! CHuck is the father of rock and roll! Mos Def did a good job.

  • @kht777 Etta james is a fucking blues legend faggot.

  • @MUJAHID56787 they weren't talking about Etta James, just that Beyonce didn't really do a good job portraying her, in which i agree. but not taking anything from Etta, shes's a legend

  • @kht777 Lol beyonce did a AWSOME job in that movie noobass aka Etta James. ;) Etta was amazing so does Chuck.

  • @kht777 did u know that beyonce played etta james so if u take her out u taking out one of the best female artist of her time
