Is the album ANNETTE SINGS GOLDEN SURFIN HITS available now on
a CD? I always thought it was one of her best LP's that Buena Vista

often, when i listen to these recordings, i find myself wishing that annette had worked with a wider array of producers (less syrupy backup instrumentally and vocally) but this lesley gore soundalike (complete with quincy jones-approved handclaps) really nails it. wake up, buena vista (or whoever's sitting on the rights), the annette army demands a respectul re-release of these classic albums.

The 1:50 "belly button" shot was a promo photo from the 3rd beach party movie ("Bikini Beach"). During the early seafront scenes in that film, Annette is wearing a blue and white bikini which clearly exposes her navel, particularly in some extensive closeups when she goes to the tent of the visting British Invasion character. So the whole "Annette never showed her navel in the beach movies" thing is a complete myth. BTW the infamous navel also appears early in "Muscle Beach Party."
