The reason most organized crime fails is that people like to brag. Complacency and ego gets more people in jail than DNA evidence. As long as investigators can spare time and possess diligence, most things come out.
In other words, people are fundamentally dumb.
When they don't even know they're dumb, they're social conservatives, or Palinesque.
