It was cancelled because Cartoon Network sucks... The contracts with the artists estabilish a maximun of episodes for each cartoon. It's the same fate other great shows such as Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021 and others had... A shame really. But don't complain, it could be worse: here, in Brazil, Adult Swim was cancelled on Cartoon Network about an year and half ago... Now it's on at a channel knows as I-Sat, which is only one cable TV operator (a real lame one, which nobody signs).
