  • Benny, benny benny,. When shooting on location, you must use lavalier mics hidden and back up the recording on another deck. Camcorder mics cant handle the ambient noise. AND PLEASE LOSE THE JACKSON 5 music,. It's a major turn off to your videos.

  • Benny rulez! ^_^

    I got your teaching, man!

    thanks so much.

  • you could use "hen" instead of "fei chang", they pretty much mean the same thing

  • Of course you can,

    fei chang = very

    hen = quite

  • yes you can use hen instead of fei chang

because hen and fei chang are describing words.....you could also use "hao"- meaning good etc

    x

  • benny = playa

  • How do you say " I wish to kiss your mother even though Her breath is like that of a Camels "?

  • Translated as "fk yo momma, you whore"

"fk yo" = I wish to kiss

    "momma" = your mother

    "you" =but

"whore" = she is a whore

  • @yourmumsucksmycock 我想要亲吻你妈妈,尽管她气息是像骆驼一样。:D

  • @zoodrago wtf............

  • Nice enthusiasm!

  • never say that to a chinese girl

  • Why not?

  • all you wanna teach is how to sleep with a chinese girl??

  • well i thought hen means very and fei chang is extremley

  • hahahahaaa, wouldn't you like to have extremely beautiful eyes rather than just very beautiful eyes?

  • your eyes are very beautiful or u have very beautiful eyes?

u dont use verb "to have" :S

maybe there are another way to say this sentence

  • come on , there are 5-6 ways to say this sentence in chinese, you surely dont think there is only way to say ``you got beautiful eyes`` in english

  • do you put your finger in the gals face when you say this?

  • lmao

  • i think she liked your comment, you should ask her out

  • Does this not mean your eyes are pretty not beautiful. I thought 美 is beautiful and 漂亮

  • 'Pretty' and 'beautiful' mean mostly the same thing in this context. Even if their usage was slightly different, remember that each English word doesn't map exactly onto one unique Chinese word.

When learning, you associate English words with Chinese words to start the process... but later, you don't think about the English words when hearing Chinese - you remember the meaning more directly.

  • Thank you! I am still learning!

  • Hey, thanks. I'm gonna try saying this to my Taiwanese girlfriend. If I get it right, she will be very impressed! :)

  • Yes,hehe,good luck~!

    Best wishes~!

  • i am not sure if the comment i posted on your page went through or not but i have a really pretty chinese girl that i would like to ask out in "CHINESE" so how do you say would you like to go out on a date??? thanx man...happy new year cause i know that it is next week for you guys over there....(she told me!!)

  • Hi medlinsrednose,

    In Chinese you can say:

jīn tiān wǎn shàng nǐ yǒu kòng ma? = Do you have free time tonight?

    Happy new year to you!

    Benny

  • @askbenny Your lessons are the best! thanks a lot for those videos!I'd like to know if the questions to ask a gril out is just when the guy invite a girl or it is for both, if not could you tell me how the girl would ask a boy?? because in some languages there are different ways to ask and I want to know if there is diffence... ^^

    thanks

  • @Mandychan93 There is no difference. Just ask what he is doing that evening/afternoon or whenever you want to hang out with him in Chinese.

  • @Xinoutorah yeah...thanks for the answer but I just wanted to know if there was a difference I don't want to ask any boy out ¬¬"

I'm not want to ask"I like you!"

  • wow!!

    u got to meet hollywooDstAR^^

    thts cool

  • Hello, Benny. I've seen your reply to me. Thank you for you can teach me Shanghai dialect.

That's my first question(cause my English is not very good, so I speak Chinese):

    我交觀喜歡儂

Is it means "I love you"

但如果直接翻譯,is "I like you very much"

Has "I love you" or "I love you very much" in Shanghai dialect?

  • Hi, "交管" in Shanghainese means "very", 我交觀喜歡儂 = I like you very much. You can also use "咯" as very.

  • Hello, Benny. I tell you a very bored thing:

I'm Taiwanese but I like to come here to listen your lesson. I'm so bored. I think your English is very very good.

Oh! You can speak Chinese to me and my English is not very good.

Finally, I want to learn Shang Hai Hua(上海話)

, can you teach me it on YouTuBe?

    Thank you very much. Jordan

  • Hi musicking baby, thanks for your encouragement, I do speak Shanghainese and I am happy to teach you. But at the moment we don't have any plan to make videos to teach Shanghai dialect. But you can always ask me some words in Shanghai dialect.

  • you need to make this video more clear ! like the old ones !

  • Thanks for your comment!

  • sorry if I was rude :S

  • It's ok! No worries!

  • Hey Benny thanks for the help I was a hit with the chinese girls in las vegas.I do have a question for you; Chinese people look very differnt why. By that I mean the shape of the eyes, skin tone, and body type.

  • Hi Barry, this is a very interesting question, I can't explain why Chinese people look very different, but I think because China is a very big country, everything is possible here:)

  • it'd be cool to have more conversation like that, though it really helps to have subtitles.

    anyway, fantastic video!

thanks for all the chinese help.

  • It's my pleasure! Have any question just let me know.

  • what an awesome teacher...

  • hi benny,i said this to a stranger in a bus,, i got a stern look... waaaa!!!!

  • in fact, we never say that to strangers = =, even friends.its strange, though it's common for westerner

  • Thanks Benny! I said this to my girlfriend and she was very surprised! Thanks to your video I could say the sentence very well!

  • Cool! Good to hear! Keep learning with me!

  • Nihao! Nihao ma? Wo ai nide mouren. Xiexie ni jianglai wode yige xiongdi. Huitou jian he zaijian!

  • xie xie, wo hen hao. Ni de zhong wen fei chang hao. wo de xiong di!

  • haha, benny, your videos are awesome!

  • Xie xie!

  • Actually, what I really appreciate about your videos is that when you are first introducing the phrases, you pronounce each part slow enough so that someone can actually hear how its pronounced. Ive seen lots of clips on youtube that are not very helpful cuz the speakers don't speak slow enough at first and you can't hear exactly how the words are pronounced.

  • Hi Atmanatoh,

Thanks for your nice comment. I think language is a way of communication, the most important thing of it is to make people understand you, that exactly how we make our video.

If you have any ideas or thoughts, please let us know.

  • Benny, you're so cute and funny. If all Chinese guys are like you, then I'm very lucky. *lol*

  • I'm Korean and I think chinese language is cool. One thing I don't get is whats the difference between mandarin and other types. Also, its very hard to memorize the rythems. errrrr. I'm so jealous of people who are fluent in chinese. :).

  • zdumdum, welcome to Bennysland. Mandarin is the official language in China, it has been widely used here for more tha 50 years, as for other types, they're just local dialects.

The only and the best way to memorize the rythems is to practice consistently, if you can manage to do that I am sure you will be able to speak fluent Chinese in near future.

  • what about 'ni hung mei lei'?

  • Do you mean "nǐ hěn měi lì"? It also means you're very beautiful.

  • do you know any video on youtube that can pronouce your very beautiful

because I dont know Im saying it right so I want to know the right way to say

    xie xie!

  • hio nia tokku:how is the clothers

  • my mandarin teacher thaught us that "bak tseu" in english is eye?? and the sevendays are: Sunday= pay dit Monday= pay it tuesday= pay di wednesday= pay sa thursday= pay si friday= pay go saturday= pay lak is it right??
  • Where is your Mandarin teacher come from? I don't think this is Mandarin.

  • fu jian i think.... wats d diff between "wo ai ni" & "gua ai di"

  • hello!

from what I know this is fookien, spoken by most Chinese here in the Philippines and it's not mandarin. I am quite confused before growing up studying mandarin while hearing fookien from the chinese family and friends I grew up with.

  • Fookien? What? I've studied Mandarin for two years, I can confirm this is Mandarin and not "fookien".

  • mandarin,not fookien,

  • my mandarin teacher thaught us that "bak tseu" in english is eye?? and the sevendays are: Sunday= pay dit Monday= pay it tuesday= pay di wednesday= pay sa thursday= pay si friday= pay go saturday= pay lak is it right??...THIS IS FOOKIEN & NOT MANDARIN.. "wo ai ni" & "gua ai di" WO AI NI is MANDARIN and GUA AI DI is FOOKIEN.

  • what, how do you know so many celebraties?

    you popular dude!

  • Should be "měi nǚ"(美女). It's a very popular word. měi nǚ = beautiful girl

  • ni hao menu

  • cant you just say hen mae??

cos my bf speaks mandarin and he was said that hen mae is very beautiful, and its so much easier to say!! is there different contexts?

  • měi means both "beauty and beautiful", piào liàng is just an adjective. That's the difference between those 2 words

  • awesome
