@gsuskbral, then biking on bumpy terrain, the chain will bounce around and hit the chain stay portion of the bike. When the chain hits this part, it will chip off all of the paint if it is not protected. I just cut a 1" strip of an old intertube and wrapped it on the chain stay section and secured it with a tie wrap. Easy to do and it doesn't cost anything, looks kindof cool too...home made.
lol these are good tips, but not for beginners...beginners don't ride for 4 hours, and usually don't pay $1000 and up for a bike equipped with hydraulic brakes.
@TheMegaPaintballer, hey Mega, I'd love to talk downhill, but I've never done it. The page that I made was just to get the peeps that are new to mtb'ing familiar with the basic techniques, nothing too advanced. I just wanted to help people so they do not fall when mtb'ing as this is a dangerous sport ! ! !
Hey Tom, I would look around at your local bike shop. They should have good sales for 2009 models that are inventory. Look online as well. Full suspension is the way to go if you have rough/bumpy trails. They are in general heaver than a hard tail, but it's worth it for those rough rides.
hi i have just started to get into trail riding. at the moment i have a felt, but it is not full sespentiong. so what i was thinking was that i should buy a bike full suspention bike frame. i have a buget of £350 - £400, (im from england by the way) and just wanted to know if you have any sugestions. If you could reply to this message that would be great,
Glad to help again! I went to your page Mystery and noticed you produce music. I'm in the learning process as I have a keyboard, guitar and a line6 toneport for recording. I'm finding that it takes quite a bit of time!
