Thank you for posting this moving video. The movie with Dennis Quaid and many other fine actors about the Alamo was the best and most realistic portrayal I've seen yet. What a Country we are- built on the blood, sweat, and tears of MANY different peoples.
Im confused, all the talk about texans fighting at the alamo but yet Travis makes his call refering to the american character,
ok are they or are they not? this only reinforces the fact that these pirates where american bandits and shoots dead the idea that the "texans" fought for liberty, so does that makes mexicans coming across the border californians or texans?
If the Alamo defenders were pirates they were pirates like the Spanish and Pirates like the Aztec Empire.
It doesn't matter what the Texans/Americans called themselves because the government of Mexico called them foreigners and tried to kill and throw them out of the country.
Now America should follow Santa Anna's example and try to throw illegal aliens out of this one.
thats a hard one, wars are not won entirely by military means and americas economic machine would come to a stop, so, u take a guess, i dont see america bringing in any more poor hindus, chinese or people americans are hardly aquanted with, i dont see americans white or black doing hard labor and if so, salaries would have to increase striking a blow to this economy and so on and on...
Don't need the cheap labor it just draws wages down and sucks up money for infrastructure improvements, benefits and services. At best benefits and negatives to the economy is a wash.
Cheap Labor benefits big business. Japan hasn't opened itself to mass immigration and they became the second largest economy in the world right behind us.
I would have to disagree on that one, cheap labor benefits everyone, if you buy an Apple in the supermarket for .50 cents its because of the slave wages given to immigrants, money for infrastructure is not a problem, illegal immigrants pay their share of taxes just the same for instance, when they go and buy an item they will pay 9.25% on tax so that money goes to the municipal coffers
travis was aking help from the Texas Army and the Union, which he never recieved in time, and the Union never participated, hense the term the Lone Star State.
@enchilada01 You are truely confused. SantaAnna was the pirate. He is considered a traitor in Mexico. The settlers of the northern territory controled by Mexico (not Mexico proper) were considered Mexicans or immigrents under Mex.contract & control until Texas won Independence & the land became the Republic of Texas. So, they (with the exception of a few born in the territory) were not Texans until there was a Texas proper.Further, Mexican Nationals are Mex.Nationals where ever they are.
good video,, thank you,, Ill be in san antonio in july for the wild west history association meeting,,it will be my first visit to the alamo location,,this vid brings home the events that took place there,,

Stick with it. One day people will start listening to you and realise what a mistake it is to let immigrants flood into the country..

Thanks for the comments 1880TimeTraveler.
I've been to the Alamo only once myself. Its a holy place. A shrine to liberty and old style American bravery.
The river walk in San Antonio is also very beautiful.

Just discovered your video, great sutff keep it up. It's essential to have more than one PC side of history. Whether I may agree with it or not.
By the way, why do you disable ratings, it would help to get your videos seen by more people.

Thanks for your kind comments.
I disable the ratings in general because I know the controversial nature of the subject matter.
Its sad that what once was standard American history is ''controversial'' now but thats the situation.
Those on the other side of the debate like to get little gangs together rush in and massacre the ratings.
I'd rather not give them the pleasure.
