Only Marty and Travis could take this classic song, and totally reinvent it with such soul and feeling. I was fortunate enough to see them at Lanierland and they did a version of Mississippi River Blues by the great Jimmy Rogers. Travis on accoustic, Marty on his mandolin. It was stunning. Afterwards, I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. The applause was deafening, it went on for at least two minutes. It was a show stopper. A very special moment. Maybe the best I've ever seen.
My son and I saw this show early in the tour. Any fan of this music that missed it, you missed an awesome show!
They did this song at the show we attended. I remember Marty Stuart saying in his introduction that the bluesy way that Travis sings it Johnny Cash told him he thought was the way the song was intended to be sung.
Thanks for posting this, and the other videos from the concert. Fantastic job!
Two best pickers in existence.

The only thing better than Travis singing, is Travis singing with Marty! Love them both.
