My Grandmother played the Violin. When she was 16-17 she was to play the Intro Rondo Capriccioso by Saint Saens as a last performance in an Orchestra in Berkley. For 2 years she practiced and extra hour on TOP of the 4 hours a day she had always played (since she was 6) to perform this song. Two weeks before she was to play it, the Orchestra was disbanded because of WWII, and the gas tickets that everyone had to buy. It was shortly after, that she quit playing the Violin.
@MusicPredominates You know, he said about many Jewish musicians that it was "such a shame that [they were] Jewish". How can you call him a lover of culture if he hated people based on their ethnicities and then labeled their entire culture as evil?
@Cocoheadedcannibal i dunno WWII would put a strain in most ppls life where playing an instrument was not as important as surviving...cuz u know...IT'S A WAR
