I teach a class too.....but it is such a struggle to keep the kids attention. Any advice on getting their concentration.
The only remedy I had was taking 3-4 kids after class and helping them. Giving them individual help...so they find a passion of karate. Yet I don't want to dissapoint parents and always felt that after class I never truly felt happy since many of the kids aren't learning.
@Codywc13 I see that you have no respect for the traditional ways, or for any type of martial arts for that matter. All I said was that the sensei should be wearing a PROPER gi - not just a shirt and pants - because he is the instructor and he should be respecting the art, as well as setting an example for the kids. In case you didn't know... but of course, I guess you didn't.
@anythingnew - OMG. they are only learning.. they are only about 4 years of age.. He's doing well to have them stay in the say place for more than a 60seconds..
Lil dragons is a nationally accredited program and it is great for little kids. I especially love how it focuses not only on karate, but on basics like balance, coordination, respect, street safety, manners, memory, ect. This particular instructor is doing an amazing job of keeping the attention of his little students.
Lil dragons is a nationally accredited program. It focuses not only on getting kids to become strong and refrain from fighting- it also has focuses on safety, enhancing memory, balance, all the physical and mental necessities of life for a small child.
thats really kute. 3 and 4 year olds. idk if thats a great idea though. kids that get strong like that at that age are really not that responsible with karate, and how to refrain from violent behavior
you don't see many Korean MA schools that understand kids at all, and this one looks like TSD, at least the instructor in the back has a uniform that looks TSD, and that makes it even stranger. Way to go .. Change the world.
I used to love little dragons. =3

I don't know this particular style, nor do I know the teacher, but I do know that the instructor should be wearing a -proper- gi to respect the art.

These kids have no stance. I think they need to get stance right before doing anything.

We had a four year old in our kid's class.
When he did punches and kicks he looked very formidable - expect for his keeping his thumb in his mouth!
