  • I'm 53 and can do an honest (where someones flat fist on the ground would feel my chest touch it...that was the criteria for one counted pushup in the Corps) 65+....after Marine Boot camp when I was 19 I could pump out a hundred...lomg time ago...lol

  • to tell you all the truth, overall doing push ups is a good excercise but all these excercises are unecessary. stick to 1 or 2 and your good but all those different forms of push ups is the same as doing it the normal way. you just get a little stronger in some places and its really not worth the effort.

  • erm.. can i point out that.. push ups are very easy? i not too sure abt others but in my country and school, any1 that does less than 20 push ups is a loser.. and yes it is definitely possible to do 100 push ups with consistent training. Personally, i prefer close-in push ups because i think its easier.

  • i agree lol. lifting weights is the hard stuff. the stupid thing about push ups is that you have to double your work (depending on what you want to achive) to match up to weight lifting because you arent using as much strength but at the same time lose alot of energy. btw wahat country are you from?

  • @fkcanuck it makes you a loser at push ups but depending on what shape your in. im guessing that everyone watching this video is in good shape but looking for excersises to add to their routine. some people might state that not being able to do 20 push ups makes you a loser....but at push ups not everything else in life. if someone sucks at basketball, it doesnt mean they suck at every other sport.

  • @P9T9RPAN: Sometimes it seems like you can do less pushups than when you were younger not because you're much weaker, but because your technique is better now. Most kids don't have good form and therefore think they can do a million pushups when really they are doing them granny style without noticing.

  • I have trouble with push ups. Doing 3 will drain me alot and i have to go to recovery position. Can someone advise me on other exercise that can help to build up strength so that i can eventually revert back to doing pushups when i have the required strength?

  • Start again with push ups from your knees, or be on an incline. Or do it so that your feet are on the floor and youre going dont on the edge of your bed

  • If you by doing 3 push ups get your energy levels lowered down, I suggest you start sleeping and eating more because you are probably anoretic weighting not more than 45 kg.

  • i'm 16 and i'm 56.5kg 157cm now i can do 3 sets of push up 10 push up each i tink it was cause i didnt do much muscle training for a long time and suddenly jump to push ups thanks for the advise anyway ^^

  • Each workout, I just do 3 different pushups, then right after that lift weights, then bench, THEN sit ups, then rest.. And then repeat until I'm dead tired.

  • gym's are very over-rated, to get riped all you need is a good will, patience and perseverance, if you do push ups, set ups, and squats until you cant anymore evryday before going to bed i promise you u'll b riped.

  • It'd be a physical marathon if you could do 100 of every style in a day, and you'd never be able to finish that marathon, so no - do a variance of each type, maybe 20 of 5 types or 50 of one 50 of another. Some are easier/more beneficial, others are just not worth it (inclines do nothing)

  • I have a few questins.

    1. Should you do these everyday ?

    2. When your just starting out is it okay to do 10 reps but shorten the number from 100 to let's say 20?

    3. When you say do 100 a day do you mean choose your favorite style and do 100 of those types of pushups or do 100 reps using all of thoses styles?

    4. Out of all those different styles of pushups which do you recommend is the most useful?

  • 1. Every other day or every 2 days is fine. The stronger you grow the more you can do them. It usually takes 48 hrs for muscles to repair.

    2. Absolutely, 100 is just a guideline, u can do more or less.

    3. You can do 100 any way you want. These are just a few examples i came up with than just about anyone can do.

    4. Normal, wide, and hands low, by your waist... works, chest, back and triceps.
