  • That's some fine acoustic guitar playing with Bob's wonderful voice! It's a wonderful song;thanks for posting it! In Christ's Love, BobbyK

  • where can i find ,' hand of kindness' i think...

  • @jdhondaeightball -- "Hand of Kindness" is on my 1997 album SMALL GRACES ... exclusively available from my web site (CD only) ... look at triple-W DOT bob DASH/HYPHEN bennett DOT com. (If that's too oblique, just Google my name and music and that should do the trick.)

  • Hi, Bob. Today I saw you singing in the video from Kindlings fest, and enjoyed it very much. So I looked for more stuff from you. I like your songs so much. God bless you

  • Hi, Bob. Please, would you consider uploading "Matters of the Heart" since it's so closely tied into this song?

  • What a sham Christian music has become, in comparison to this. Way too much thinking for these days.

  • You go, Bob.

  • I used to play this over and over in the 80s as a young Christian! Been searching for it for ages. So glad to find it today. Bob, I love your music!

  • Please might it be possible for you to post "Saviour of the World?" The song connects, on many levels: tone, rhythm, pulse, music, message. I used to play it repeatedly, praying the lyric. My only copy was a well worn cassette. But it was lost in a move. I cannot find a CD copy to purchase. So, please, if you post it here, it would be a Blessing, I'm sure, to many parched souls. (Oh Saviour of the world; change my heart...change my mind...Do You think that You could change my mind.....?)

  • @otherlyn

You can find the Non-Fiction album on Bob's website it has Saviour of the world on it. It is a digital download. I had been looking for it for a long long time. Non Fiction is one of the greatest CCM albums of ALL time.

  • Why cannot I find his best?

    Mountain Cathedrals?

  • *The.. I guess I just put "my'" in there when I sing it..

  • It's been too long since I have heard your music. One of your songs (Lord Of My Past) has always played in my heart like a psalm, and I love that you have shared your gift.

  • Hey Bob its Jeff Coulson, so great to see how may people you have affected with the music the Lord has given you. I remember back in 1976 when you and Dan Rupple were living together in Downey and you were newly saved and said to me I just wish I could play music and be used by the Lord, I have all your albums and I truly know you have been used of the Lord, I hope you are doing well.

  • ah Bob... you and this particular song saved me from jumping off a cliff back in '82.... "and a head full of preconceived notions, that manage to get in the way" brilliant

And the transition to Matters of the Heart reminds me of Don Ross and Andy McKee :)

  • Bob! Good to see more video of you! I've looked in the past -- you would've been my first shot, but never turned up much. I became acquainted with Keaggy on here via Stonehill (Angry Young Men), and got an account after that just to collect Keaggy. Heard his name way back but was too stuck on BOB BENNETT and STONEHILL; never paid attention to him! Wondered if you knew him; your comment below answers that! Much love, your friend on MySpace, Spirited ES (Ellen S.)!

  • Phil Keaggy, guitar is good also; Jimi Hendricks said he is one of the best that ever was on guitar.

    check it out

  • @sparkle88ify -- The Hendrix thing is a VERY persistent urban legend. (See Phil's Wikipedia entry.) As you say, he is a masterful player ... and a longtime friend.

  • Great music, Bob!

Would you consider posting "The Night Shift"? It's probably my favorite song from your oeuvre.

  • I don't know how many times I played this song on the radio at WVGS during my two years at GA Southern, but it sure helped chase away the "Statesboro Blues".

  • Bob, thanks for giving us so many beautiful songs from your heart. I first heard you at Creation 86 in Mount Union, PA. I still have the LP "Matters of the Heart" which you graciously autographed. I look forward to hearing you perform with Kelly Willard or Nancy Honeytree. Pray about it. Smiles and thanks

  • I still have and listen to the Compilation album. A friend burned "matters of the heart" for me, saying he had received permission from BB due to the album being OOP. I reciprocated with Songs from Bright Avenue. Are all these albums still OOP (out of print) ?

  • This my absolute favorite song of Bob Bennetts. Used to listen to this album all the time back in the early 80s and it's definitely stood the test of time for me.

  • Always nice to see and hear from you Bob. Ever since seeing you with Michael Card some years ago I have been a fan. I have a number of your CDs and it is some of the first that I uploaded to my MP3. Right now I am on dialysis twice a week and this music helps me make it each week. Thanks so much.

  • Wonderful!

  • Oh - this has been up for months already and I didn't see it until now?? Always a pleasure to hear your performances Bob.

  • I got this album back in '82, taped it on cassette and wore them both out. I recently got the digital download of the album and it sounds amazing! Every song on "Matters of the Heart" is outstanding!! The words of this song are more meaningful today than ever! Thank you so much Bob for posting this!! All the best to you and yours, John

  • Can't believe I'm only the 5th person to comment on the brilliant gem. Recorded way before I had the joy of a meal with him and his lovely wife about 7 years ago. Way underrated - truly a songwriter's writer. God bless you Bob.

  • Brilliant songwriter/performer! Bennett is such a masterful songwriter, and storyteller. I have so much appreciated his music all these years. Well done, Bob! Wonderful music!

  • Thanks so much for stopping by to view this little artifact. When we cut the song on the album "Matters of the Heart" we edited two pieces together. The "fingerstyle" part was in the same key (E), but with a capo on the second fret. The second part in regular tuning. In concert, I had to figure out a way to do it all without a capo and this was the result. 1982 was a lifetime ago. I'm happy I have some of this archival stuff to show to my kids (and, hopefully one of these days, grandkids).

  • Cool! Thanks for taking time to explain things...sounds pretty innovative! It is neat that you have videos to show your kids. People like me who aren't your kids enjoy watching them too :) If you have any more please put them up! :)

  • Nice!! I love the transition between fingerpicking and strumming in the song. :) Bob came to my church a few years ago, and I was deeply touched by his music and humble spirit. I'm looking forward to hearing new music in the future! :)

  • such talent :)
