  • It's to bad he couldn't leave the religion in the closet.

  • Not sure I understand this comment...?

  • time will slay all of us actually, and god will sort us out, idiots and bigots will go to idiot and bigot heaven where they can stand around and thump each other on the back and congratulate each other for wasting their lives.

  • roe messner married tammyfayes friend after only 4 months

  • Oh my, now a Dan Brown convention...:P What's this all about?

Is Jay gay or a heretic?

  • The advertisment is honest in claiming that Jay Bakker is preaching "a new kind of faith". It is certainly not " the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3)! He's certainly following in the Bakker family tradition in that regard!

  • Actually in revelation it says nor fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, idolitors. True it does. Btw not a church goer anymore but its fact. Just read.

  • god will slay all of you!

  • i can not wait to see this show , can't wait to see what it's all about .

  • The only one who could ever reach me

  • This is the most ridiculous clip on youtube. A complete abomination to God.

  • The whole Bakker clan is an abomination to God! May Tammy Fake burn in Hell!

  • fatgene1980, I can see the "love" coming from the Christians! So much "love"!

Christianity and Islam make me sick more than any other religion, they promote hate and bigotism. Hell was a concept stolen from earlier religions, one of which is ZOROASTRIANISM. GET AN EDUCATION YOU FOOL!

  • While Jesus did not specifically address homosexuality, He did speak out on sexual immorality and adultery quite a bit. Homosexuality is adultery (sex between unmarried persons). God's boundaries for marriage are given in Gen 2:24 anything beyond that is outside of His boundaries and His will and is not recognized as marriage by Him, regardless of whether or not our man made laws do recognize it. I'm all for compassion but not at the expense of truth.

  • this is an abonination this goes against the very word of god there is no such thing as a gay christian it is an abomination before his eyes and to top that you have the cheek to call yourself a pastor. so you can spread false teachings to many others who will look to you for guidance. i will pray that god will lead you to the truth god can cure homosexuality it is not in gods plan

  • AMEN!! It truly is an abomination.

  • I love reading the misinformed rants of born again christian ass clowns. My parents had every kind of book in their libary from the bible to the book of mormon. That said....I really dig this guy (Jay Bakker). He gets it. It is about a singular relationship and asking hard questions. Only you know what is best for you. Ancient texts, stories and folklore will not bring you any closer or any further away from the inevitable.

  • I think this portion of your post "born again christian ass clowns" tells me all I need to know about you to understand your position. I believe that you my friend are not saved. I encourage you to get your heart right with God and the truth or lack thereof, of JB's message will become clear to you.

    God Bless

    What is the "inevitable"?

  • My position comes from a a fantastic mother who was an episcopal minister for 30+ years. Both of my parents taught me to read everything and understand that it is man not God who dictates the small minded religious point of view when it comes to condemning their brothers.

  • I'm sure your mother was fantastic but you are deceived if you believe that JB is preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is nothing more than a heretic preaching a false Christ.

  • WOW~! I can hardly wait for you to take your last breath and suddenly be standing, sitting or floating in a space that is so far from your mortal reality that you will laugh at how you could have been so arrogant!

  • Everything I have said is backed up with scripture. I am sorry if you perceive that as arrogance because that is not where my heart is at all. What I speak is the truth of God's Word and nothing else.

  • It is inevitable that when you take your last breath we will all be standing in the same place. So I will see you there. I will be the one holding my wifes hand surrounded by countless others that loved and accepted EVERYONE not just your chosen few.

  • No my friend you will be at the Great White Throne of Judgement (not the place you want to be at that moment in time) in order to be judged by your own righteousness, whereas I have already been judged by Jesus Christ and by His righteousness and have been declared NOT GUILTY.

  • I have watched this series and I think that Jay has an amazing truly Christian compassion for the socially despised among us. I confess , I harbored contempt for his parents, Jim and Tammy. Through Jay's eyes I now see them as flawed human beings, deserving of understanding, even if their beliefs are counter to mine. Jay stands up to proclaim non-judgmental love not to be oppositional, but because his convictions speak the truth..

  • I'm sick and tired and fed up with that phrase "non-judgmental love". It is a crock, and most of the people that promotes this are hypocrites, liars, and wusses. Genuine love warns people when they are doing or believing something that will doom them to Hell. "Non-judgmental love" is whitewashed hatred!

  • How can "doom them to Hell" be taken as a threat if Heaven is populated with the likes of you?

  • Well said. I can't understand why so many people rated this comment a thumbs-down.

  • Ok Whitese7ven, lemme correct you on that and all you who think he's telling the truth. He said that he believes same sex couples deserve equal rights and that if the law is passed he would marry same sex couples. Sounds like you enjoy twisting people's words around if they don't resemble your own self-righteous teachings.

  • How is that any different from what I said?? His statement implies that he disagrees with scripture with regard to homosexuality and homosexuals. He doesn't believe it to be sin or sexual immorality, which clearly contradicts scripture. He not only tolerates sin, he condones sin. The Apostle Paul warns us about teachers who preach a different Christ, he states that they are accursed. He preaches a different Christ from the one I received.

  • I think that the Western church has had no trouble letting it be known how they feel about sin. It is a part of the sterotype now. What is not a part of the stereotype is compassion. There are difficult areas in the Christian life, such as how to respond to a person as a whole when the friend (who you love) joins a demographic (which you disapprove of). It seems, in this difficult area, Jay has decided to err on the side of friendship over demographic.

  • I'm not sure if I'm clear on where you stand. Are you being sarcastic or do you feel that Jay has truly erred in his decision to not apply scriptural truth to the sin of homosexuality?

  • To share the truth of scripture with someone who is walking in disobedience, is showing compassion. That is one of the great misconceptions in regard to Christianity, that it cannot be compassionate of the sinner while at the same time condemning of the sin. Jesus was a master at this. He was always compassionate with the sinner but He also dealt with sin as sin.

  • You are absolutely right that Jesus was/is the master of compassion, and also right about dealing with sin as sin. I suppose my point is that the addressing of sin without true (true) compassion is much more often justified than vice-versa. Neither is good. Both are shortsighted. And there is certainly the possibility that one would choose neither (it is more "convenient").

  • However, I really do think Jay has chosen to struggle with figuring out how to have compassion for people before figuring out how to "compassionately address sin" to a demographic. I admire him for this, if nothing else.

  • I use quotes not to mock what you say about sin issues playing a real part in our love for people (as I have said, I agree). I use quotes because I have met so, so few people whose compassion actually precedes the task of addressing sin. Gone are the days of defending ourselves from being labeled the goody-two-shoes - we are now labeled as the heartless faiures at our own game.

  • In my estimation, he is choosing to be compassionate in lieu of sharing truth. In the scripture it states that "truth sets you free", not compassion. Jay is under the misconception that those two principles are mutually exclusive, when they clearly are not, at least according to scripture, which in the end is all that matters.

  • Thanks for the conversational tone to your response - it doesn't often happen that way on this site, especially when dealing with such sensitive issues. I think I've said all I wanted to say - a heart is a tough thing to know purely, and I certainly don't know Jay's. I work for a place in L.A. called Hope for Homeless Youth, and I can say that some of our friends here have really been touched by Jay. It encourages me to know that God shows Himself through us despite...well...a lot.

  • Thanks for the chat.

  • Equal rights HELL! They want SUPER-RIGHTS! They want totalitarian gay rule over the entire earth and to destroy those who dare to stand for the truth!

  • thats awesome. i gotta watch dat

  • good for him! I hope the moral majority is watching--

  • A+ very cool

  • god what i wouldnt give to smash this fuckers face in. A punk rocker and a jesus freak rolled into one pig faced asshole.

  • Why the need to conform to the world?

  • Amen!! The scripture teaches us that we are not to be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Jay Bakker is a heretic and he need to repent and stop preaching a different Christ. Yes, Christ loved people where they were at but He did not ignore the sin. He dealt with by proclaiming truth to those He encountered.

  • how is he sinning? I say you watch the show before you judge.

  • On Larry King, he said that he hopes that same sex marriage laws will be passed all over the country so he can marry same sex couples.

  • Before I ever posted anything about him, I heard his interview on LK which told me all I needed to know. When he came out and said he favors same sex marriage laws being passed, I believe that was God revealing him for the false teacher that he is. I don't make it a habit to correct anyone w/o having my facts straight.

  • He gets it!

  • thats cool!

  • Sounds interesting, can't wait to see more!
