I would have wanted it, it's beautiful. Thank you for your video it was so very instructive and you can tell how much you love that you paint and I think that's wonderful.

  • I love your painting! You're very good!!! Thank you for videos.....from CNC

  • I really like this painting. You did it so fast too!

  • On this video you seem to curve your stems and leaves which is opposed to what you have said on another video. Am I mistaken?

  • No, you are not mistaken. I did different from what I used to do, I just wanted to do something not always the same. Thank you for passing by.

  • are you using a special kind of brush or can you use any to have the same effect?and what kind of paint where you using?

  • The brush I used here is called Bamboo orchid brush, made of wolf hair, but watercolor brush can also reach the same effect. I used ink here. You can use watercolor also.

I love your style of bamboo painting!

And you are so prolific offering your videos of cooking, Chinese language and art! The art is the best though....

    amaryllisofhawaii

  • It's hard to compare the arts and the cooking. One is beautiful, the other is yummy. Both very good though.

  • Excellent!

  • Do you used black paint or ink?

  • ink

  • A very interesting technique of painting bamboo, I might just utilize this some day. Very Nice.

  • i dont understand yanghai, is it the bamboo section must be straight always ?

  • I wish you would go to peoples houses and paint thier walls like this that would be well worth the money to have a wall full of your bamboo, like a forest.

  • I love you too! You're truly amazing!

  • I LOVE IT!! love the finished work but even more i love the way you move the paintbrush, you make it look so easy i tried it myself, of course i dont have one of those wonderful brushes, they must be expensive in america cause they`re hard to find, but they´re worth the price!! by the way, mine ended up really nice!! thanks for sharing your art!

  • Its very nice i loved it very much...

Pls tell me what kind of brush u used to paint such bamboo?

    Thanks! more power to u!!!!

  • Beautiful. You really mastered the technique. You do it so fast and efortlessly.

I am just a beguinner. Thank you for showing.

  • Hello. You really have good drawings. I was wondering, where do you get the paper and paint brush? I don't have any paintbrushes, so I was using pencil. It looked sort of weird. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos.

  • Thank you for creating these videos. I love the painting tips that you pass along. You are amazing to watch !!

  • wow! THATS SO AMAZING! good work

  • ok, thank you very much for the help. :)

  • your work is so beautiful. I want to learn that style of painting, but I do not know where to buy the brushes or inks. does this style require a specific kind of paper?

  • Right paper and brush is important. However if you are just starting, use a watercolour brush or old newspaper, copy paper, paper towel etc until you get comfortable with holding brush the Chinese way and find yourself in doing the strokes.

Do not start with expensive paper that you are afraid of making mistakes.

  • That's so weird. When you sent my willow, I thought, "I shoulda had her put some bamboo around it!" but that might have looked weird. I don't think I've ever seen a willow tree next to bamboo. Our neighbour has a bunch of bamboo in the back of his yard by the alley. Great for privacy. I love listening to it when the wind blows through. New pieces are so pointy!
