Fantastic performance of a great musical from all. The wigs are not very good, however their performance once again is great :) very well done. I wish this show was popular among amateur societies in the UK. I always keep my eye peeled for one as I'd love to see it in the UK, it's one of my favourite musicals and it is a huge shame that the show is very rarely performed here. Lucky states :P
does anyone know the ages of the characters for this shows. A community theatre company is thinking about doing this show and I'd like to know if I should try out.
Actually, she is a brunette wearing a blonde wig! But the understudy for Jo on the first national tour was blonde, as are several other Jos I have seen around in regional theatre and on youtube. So yes, there is hope for blondes to play this part. But I must say, if you're worried, you can always consider being wigged for an audition. I know I've heard people advise against it, but I have had many successful auditions in wigs- in fact my hair is such a nest, I audition in wigs ALL THE TIME!
I don't know why the costume designer went with blonde. Maybe it complemented the costume color better, maybe they didn't have enough nice brown wigs in stock or he wanted a visual difference between the sisters. All I know is, she looked beautiful as a blonde. And our costumes and set were stunning. And our cast was fabulous, and every one of them are professionals. I was very proud to be in this production.
It actually wasn't. It probably was influenced in some areas and staging but unlikely jacked especially considering the playwright came and saw the production and said he liked some of this stuff BETTER than the broadway one.
Wow.. this was JACKED from the Broadway production. The Director/Choreo missed a great chance to create their own content. Well executed.. but unfortunate.

That's because on youtube after you upload videos you can put words into the video description or add them as a list of tags. The tags and description come up when you do a search, so since I identified the song using Sutton Foster's name (in case people did a search using the singers name instead of the song title), it comes up when you type in her name and the title. For the record, I don't think there is video of Sutton Foster singing Better on Youtube.
She sounds like Sutton Foster she should be on Broadway!

I liked this! I felt like it was a little over-sang and over-acted, but still very cute. Looks like it was a good cast =)

why is she wearing a blonde wig if she's brunette though? that's closer to what the originally character Jo had. she had an auburn color.
