I got on YouTube over two hours ago, listening to Loretta Lynn, then I moved on to Dolly, then to Patsy Cline, finally to Cash. Then, all of a sudden, I got a suggestion for this video, and it has brought me around full-circle in a very delightful manner. Wonderful music! Thank you for making it!
Eventually, I'll get to hear all your creations.. The Fill-and-Backing lines fit together perfectly.. That guitar sounds soo nice for this song.. Any better than that and it would be too good..
Mr. Hartley, thank you for all the beautiful music you've provided the world community. Whenever there is sadness in my heart, I can come hear and feel a bit better. Your sound is truly ethereal, playful, and wonderful. Much appreciated. Dan Policarpo
I wish to thank you all for your comments to my youtube broadcasts. It is very much appreciated. I do try and contact you all personally if there's any questions that I have been asked, and I also make note of all your requests too. I have some great ideas for future videos and I will try and play some of your requests also.
Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a New Year.
Hi Dave, Have only recently discovered you tube, and am now hooked and love your music and style. Am a fellow musician though not to your standard. I used to own a pedal steel, and was starting to learn, but it was a cheap one and would not stay in tune, so gave up as I could not afford a good one. Times and my situation have changed and so now have ordered a double neck Emmons as you have inspired me again. Thanks and keep em coming. Keepin it Country.
Hi Mr Hartley....great great great version of Stand By Your Man....you would've made Tammy Wynette very happy. I love watching your playing on here...you play sooooooo effortlessly. AWESOME!!!!!!!! I've seen every video you've done.
Two minutes and forty nine seconds of absolute beauty and E9th genius! At around 0:30 seconds in, the tears flowed freely. I can listen to this over and over! No wait, I have been.
God bless you Dave. Your music sparks life in this dying old soul.
Dave: You are The Man! Those licks from 1:25 to 2:03 are incredible. I have run out of words to describe your playing. I get so much enjoyment listening to you. When it comes to the world of the steel guitar, it ain't Sir David, its King David! Long Live the King!
Another shining example of outstanding technique, execution, clarity, style, sound, and performance! What more could one ask for except more of the same from a fabulous, talented, friend from the UK! Needless to say, Dave, you've certainly mastered that E-9th with an enviable style that no one else has! You've got my vote any day! SPOONYUS

@davepedalsteel Steel guitars are not very usual here in Brazil..I love the sound..
My question is, Why I hardly see you playing on the other ( lower) string set.. when is it used? I´m not a musician, so, pardon for not knowing.

Den här varianten tror jag är mjukare i framförandet, faktiskt till det bättre, utan att vara kritisk till den förra.

I never get bored listening to Mr. Hartley. I'd put him up against any other steel guitar player in any band in country music, period.
