Buchanan just cannot let it go.

He wants to blame the economic crisis for McCain's failure in the polls. He is overlooking the fundamental fact that if McCain had ANY answer to the economic situation he might not have gone down in the polls quite so much. It is not the fault of the economy that he has no plan, and no clue, if he were a better candidate it would be a positive issue for him. Are the Republicans waving the white flag on the economy? Buchanan makes it sound that way.

You know, this Palin thing has really opened my eyes to what women must deal with when it comes to other women. I never fully understood why women are such bitches to other women. But now I do.

Theres Hillary who is a very qualified politician and is by no means the ugliest woman alive.

Then there's Palin. She's easily the dumbest woman in the political arena. But because so many people find her attractive she's still a player.

I think part of this is shtick. I enjoy seeing analysts even with political affiliations give an honest appraisal. David Gergen is one of the smartest, although he keeps his leans pretty well hidden, and he's worked in both Dem and Republican administrations. Pat's just creating controversy just to create controversy for ratings. It's hard to believe he actually believes this crap.

What's hard to believe is that there are still 28% who think Bush is right. WOW!!!

sarah palin was good choice, because she was able to take away some momentum from obama. she made mccain down from 25 to down to 10. that said, she's still isn't going to let him win, and I don't think any vp pick would have.

I don't know where your getting your info. I have never seen McCain down 25 points...EVER. Now maybe way back in the primary season there was a point that McCain was down 25.

But I know for a fact that in the weeks leading up to the Democratic National Convention that Obama was DOWN in about every single poll.

You say she's had a +15 impact and I say she's had a -15 impact. McCain was +5 prior to Palin and now he's -10.

what i was saying was exactly what pat buchanan said. exactly. i am making over exaggeration. mccain would have been down a lot more if never got the palin bump. i agree she is not qualified. but she did reenergize this campaign. i think if she was not picked, this election would have leveled out a lot quicker. since she was picked, mccain was able to get the post convention bump and stay in the race.

Buchanan brought up the 70M people who watched the VP debate, I think it's more important Why people watched than how many watched. If her interviews hadn't set up the anticipation of an unprecedented spectacle of lurid intellectual failure, that number would never have watched. It's laughable to claim the interest she generated was a positive for her candidacy. Nothing draws viewers like "Gut-wrenching Disaster - Live at 9!"
