DJEMMEY25, did you use your head and actually check the ticket prices and concert layout beforehand? I was sitting in the Hogan Stand in my 33 euro ticket seat, and i had a great night. I'd a better view of the stage/screen then most people on the pitch. U2 'rip off'? Stop talking shite.
The tickets for this concert were a rip off. I bought the most expensive one's thinking I would be close 2 the stage which I wasnt, I was in the hogan stand. For the price I paid I expected 2 get up closer but instead was miles away. I found out that their was people on the pitch who paid only half the price that I did and got alot closer, this doesnt make sense. Did I pay double just for my seat! U2 charge away too much for thier tickets and rip people off!!!
They wanted to start later like they did in other countries, but residents living near Croke Park have a very strict agreement what all gigs must end by 11 or half 11. It sucks, but unlike most Stadiums Croke Park is not built in a commercial area of Dublin, it's about 20 minutes from the city centre and is literally surrounded by apartment blocks and housing estates... So obviously they're not allowed keep people awake all night
I was in these exact seats last night but on the other side, Cusack stand
GREAT view!
I went down into the pit during the encore and what dke69 posted sums it up nicely: from your seat you get a great view of the band and the screen and stage, but dancing around and going mad is limited obviously since you're in a narrow enough row of seats.
If you go down into the pit, you definitely don't get the effect of the stage and the screen etc since you're sort of "under it", but you get incredibly close to the band and you get to dance around and be as wild as you want. There's a really cool moment in the pit whenever one of the bridges passes over your head as well, since they rotate constantly around the stage during the night. When they move, you know one of the lads is about to walk out, and you're so close it's unbelievable.
Great video. You capture it well. I was there tonight and Sat. This song went down a storm both nights but especially tonight. I was sitting with the newbies at very back and it's the song that got the most standing.
I was in lower hogan, 333 and had tickets for the very back row. The staff upgraded all those on the back three rows to the very front - not sure why. We had a great view.
i was on the other side, cussack stand. think that depends what you prefer. if you want to see artists clearly get as close as you can to the scene, but then you gonna miss some of effects. well best solution is... to see gig twice haha. but its really worth
and that is true, i rang ticketmaster just few hours before gig on friday and asked for tickets(my friend wanted to go that day). and they still got them, despite that if you check their website, you could only find out that all of them were all sold.
best thing was that the price was 30E for general addmision. this gig still rings in my head, cant wait till day after tommorow to see them again... this time ill be very close:)
I was wondering what section you were in the upper Hogan. I have two sets of tickets for the Hogan lower but am trying to figure out which ones to take. I have either section 333 or 334 and am afraid one of the claws would be in the way. You might please let me know what section you were in.
I was in section 733 so you are in the same section except in the lower tier. You should be ok as regards view in either 333 or 334. Enjoy the concert! It's fantastic!
To Bono, Edge, Larry, and Adam I say this: In the words of Neil Young, "long may you run".

Dublin gigs are great, but they definetaly starts too early. should be dark at this moment of the concert. thats bad

ditto.
why they can't wait till after the g.a.a. season and have them in september.
it was a deadly concert, but would have been amazing having the night just kicking in.
