Murray also talked to PHX to see who they were taking. Burke did something similar with L.A however he actually wanted Schenn, but they didnt like the price.

Murray just wanted to see who Burke was picking. You can bet if Phx had taken Cowen instead of Larsson, and 1 of either mps or Kadri were gone, and murray knew 1 was going to Dallas with the 8th over all pick and murray came over to burke who said "cowens our guy he who you want?" Murray wouldve had alot more to say than just OKAY x2.

Didnt anyone figure out what murray did there? If you really wanted Kadri, and Burke says hes taking him if he keeps the 7th pick, (burke didnt say, we wont move the pick he said kadri is our 7th overall pick if we have it), then wouldnt you RAISE the offer? Wouldnt you suggest or even talk?

Very very VERY wrong... everyone knew that Murray wanted Kadri so much, and they had trade discussions with Burke the entire draft to try and get Ottawa the 7th pick to grab Nazem... They couldn't agree on the offer and Burke wanted Kadri anyways so he took him.

we had to trade stralman because he will definitely not crack the opening day lineup with our depth on D... and sending him down to the minors would mean he would have to clear waivers which he most certainly would not, so we had to get whatever we could for him. A big forward who can kill penalties and win draws will do. Plus we got a second round pick. Not bad considering we would have lost him for nothing.
