    Way of life :)

  • My Hot and angry rock'n roll vagina. Consider my ass kicked.

  • best song ever <3 it!!!!!!!!!

  • 1st song i ever heard of pj's and loved just as much as the rest ..talent..."T"

  • (8) Gonna take my hips to a man who cares (8)

  • I wish Miley Cyrus would watch this and then commit suicide

  • @darksoleil1010 If your wish comes true, can Miley Cyrus make a pact with Justin Beiber please?

  • Good lord she's 12!

  • @levicaindotcom 24 here, 41 now.

  • she looks amused

  • awesome gig all her stuff is cool the ultimate rock girl

  • her older cateloug blows my mind the more i listen to it, absolutley genius. simple and powerfully complex

  • What kind of guitar is she playing?

  • @violetsun9, That guitar is a Gretsch Broadkaster, probably made between 1977 and 1979. Cool Guitar.

  • Thank you. Wish I could play. Even more I wish I could see her live and go backstage and say hi.

  • @violetsun9, It's never too late to give guitar playing a try. This song "Sheela-na-gig" is quite simple. Just a few chords. I bet you could have it down cold in a few hours. One needn't be a virtuoso to make music and have fun, and having fun is what it's all about! Polly is so cool. I'd love to meet her, too. By the way, I like your name.

  • Thanks my name made up of my favorite color and my zodiac sign which is leo. Yep, I am going to begin learning the guitar this year. Just have to figure out what kind to start with. I have been doing research...but it makes my head spin..lol

  • hey violetsun, best thing to do is go to a music store and ask someone there to let you try out a few to see what you like. Most music stores will let you do that, and a lot of times they'll be able to give you recommendations on good books/gear for beginners.

  • violetsun9, Regarding guitars. Electric or acoustic? To me, electrics are easier to play. Slimmer necks, lighter gauge strings. (easier on the fingers) However, electrics require an amplifier, but that gives you many sound and tone options. Acoustic guitars are light and portable and now many can be amplified. I like electric guitars with humbucking pick ups. These pick up s are the most versatile. Yamaha makes excellent affordable electric and acoustic guitars as well as high end stuff.

  • To me, "Dry" easily remains Polly Jean's best album. I so wish she would make another one that sounds like this.

  • you could have a go yourself?

  • i take it that rob is not singing the agreed backing lyrics, judging by the way polly cracks up laughing!

love rob's 'clattery' drumming round the kit, pity we can't hear the full force of polly's guitar sound (esp. on the dist. pedal)

  • SO DAMN SEXY

  • YES

  • Idiot drummer????

  • ever played a drum kit? sounds like you haven't....

  • My favorite line up of PJ Harvey. Wish she'd revisit this sound, oh and in my dreams she hires me to play the drums.

  • I wish, too, she would revert to this sound. I saw her about three months ago in Atlanta, and she is not what she once was. Alas. What a loss. She is now collaborating with some "songwriter" who writes tedious, tiresome crap, and plays it in exactly the same way. PJ was once a walking Earthquake. Listen to "Dry" and "4-Track Demos" -- two early albums. Wow ... (Don't bother with the "Rid of Me" album. Ironically, "Rid of Me" is one of her best songs. But the album was ruined by others)

  • @worldrimroamer

I second that. After the whole Nick Cave thing she hasn't really been the same. Uh huh her was ok but it still never achieved the same intensity of earlier work like this.

    My top 3:

    1. Long snake moan

    2. Victory

    3. Bring you my love

  • why not fuck off then?

  • um and what was that for ?

  • Comment removed

  • Can you play "Hair"?

  • She is a friggin' GODDESS. I was fortunate enough to catch her in Seattle when she was still doing the small-time gigs. She played at the Egyptian and her show was rockin!

  • the vid editing of these chicago concerts is awful.

  • get a fucking grip. do you wanna see her or not?!? thank fuck someone filmed it! be grateful for what you got. friendly advice.

  • that's what i call a true artist

  • I'd marry her

  • she always puts a big smile on my face, Love her

  • check out polly pushin pedal @2:23 in her heels.

  • Check out PJ in the movie "Book of life" She's quite the little actress.

  • Gonna wash that man right out of my head

*Just like the first time he said he didn't care

Gonna wash that man right out of my hair

    Heard it before, no more

Gonna wash that man right out of my head

Turn the corner another one there

Gonna wash that man right out of my head

    SOOO TRUE!

  • great song and fantastic performance of it

  • Gonna wash that man right out of my hair,

just like the first time he said he didn't care.

  • She's a Godess !!!

  • Sheela na Gig is Actually 'Shee Lena Gig' and means 'Fairy Woman with her Gee'.

There are hundres of Stone carved Sheelas in ireland where they originated and a few crude copies in England and France.

  • You can learn something everyday if you listen

  • I read it meant 'Julia of the Breast' (from the Irish 'Sile na gcioch'). These were, as you said, carved from stone, and were statuettes (or 'idols', as PJ herself puts it) of naked, full breasted women, with their hands emphasising their female genitalia (hence the 'hole', in 'idol-hole'). Therefore this is a song about female oppression, or rather a growing indifference from men, where once women had power and weight. It is a song about long-forgotton matriarchal times.

    In my opinion anyway :)

  • lol @ 'crude copies' sheesh

  • I just bought PJ's White Chalk album and I liked what I heard.

But then I researched her earlier material, and I was blown away!! I love it!!

  • Yeah, hate to be one of the "I like your old stuff better than your new stuff" crowd, but I really think her first two records were awesome. My favourite is definitely Rid of Me. Polly is mint.

  • yeah!!!

  • too many people are missing out if they havn't seen this.

  • :D :D

  • this should have 7498234972987235972159087298723594687 views

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thx!!!!!

  • god this is so funny!! "oh ellis what are you doing there..."

  • she shows her affection and love for him

and he calls her an exhibitionist???

    LMAO
