Blythe always sounds great. I'm surprised how much I like Guleghina here. I hope she keeps singing Aida over her other roles like Turandot (ugh).

I saw Blythe's debut as Amneris in Pittsburgh. In 30 years of operagoing I've never been so blown away by anything as I was was by her astonishing performance.

@gbparous Didn't change - we saw her yesterday at the MET as Amneris - unbelievable power! she was effortless blowing everyone else off stage. The problem with such a dominant voice: it needs real top-performers to keep up with her and that is - unfortunately - not the case with the current AIDA staff at the MET. Nevertheless - great evening because of her!
