Ooops. It should read Yamashita, not Yamashito. Read Edward T. Layton's, "And I Was There". Yamashita was not in command of the troops in Manila during the massacre. It was the Royal Marines under another General's command. The Japanese had a different command structure with different ideas of responsibility than that of the Americans. In the trial, the Americans imposed their idea of command responsibility onto those of the Japanese. They were not the same. They hung an innocent man.
Yamashito was innocent. He gave orders not to commit these crimes. He executed those he caught committing war crimes. At no time did any direct evidence emerge where he ever gave such an order. Most of those who accused him were ignorant of the trues circumstances of his command. He was the finest gentleman Japanese commander ever. You would be amazed at his personal story. They truly hung an innocent man. He was convicted on hearsay.
Fake trial and they murdered all japanese and german officer and generals. And they murdered innocent and raped vietnamese people and jews.and american send alot of drugs on south vietnam and loss by communists bich. You mother fucking fake trail
before he was hanged, Yamashita tried to shake General Percival's hand, but Perival refused because how Yamashita treated 300,000 POWS in Singapore. Then Yamashita cried because he lost his honour.
Yamashita didn't order the atrocities, and with his communications destroyed he probably didn't know about them. He ordered that Manila not be defended;his order was defied.l
@TheJunoo Those "dogs and slaves" own you. Number 1 in the world at GDP by cities (Tokyo), longest in average life span etc etc, WOW, too much for "dogs and slaves".
@TheJunoo Oh by the way you shouldn't confuse Japan and South Korea, the country called South Korea was made by USA in 1950, it's not Japan which is much older country than USA.
As far as I know Korea and Jppan r two of a kind; both of them r US colonies since 1945; u know that, don't u?? got it???? u try to hide truth as many Japs do homeboy~~~
Figured it out —This is Lt. General Akira Muto, Chief of Staff of Japanese 14th Area Army under Yamashita. Here, he is appearing as a witness for the defense —Enter "Tomoyuki Yamashita tried and sentenced to death" in the youtube search field and you'll find a 17 sec vid where you see him to the left of Yamashita —Wikipedia and Google him; plenty of pics —Also, there's a record of the Yamashita trial proceedings at lawofwar dot org.
Clearly, this is not Tomoyuki Yamashita, as, for one, you can hear @21 seconds the question: "Did you ever hear of any commander under General Yamashita issue in such order?" —So, they are referring to Yamashita in the 3rd person when questioning this witness —Two —Look at this guy's service ribbons —One row —Yamashita had four rows —Additionally, I've never seen photos of Yamashita wearing glasses. Lastly, as has already been pointed out. Yamashita was portly. This guy isn't...
Yamashita general responsibility for the massacre in Manila no. Gen. Yamashita in Manila street fighting against serious damage to the public as a result, we had a prolonged battle in the mountains of Luzon. However, argued strongly for the Imperial Navy in the Battle of Manila, had a tragic happening in the street fighting in Manila.
Manila street fighting, no real intention of General Yamashita.
@Bradfolks420 everytime I see a Jap I will remember him & beat them down with my strong almighty western hand! japanese cower before me like the little bitches they really are.
my grandpa has the cuff links os yamashita and the shoulder board of akira muto and andaho koreyasu. i have them now :) hanging on my wall in a plack
This person is not General Tomoyuki Yamashita. It is Major General Akira Muto to be reflected in the picture. It was a staff officer of Yamashita by a Philippine fight.
Because it objected to the Japan-U.S. outbreak of war, it is a person dismissed Director department of army military duties by Prime Minister Hideki Tojo.
I think that the telop of the picture had better be corrected.
They called him the "Tiger of Malaya", I called him the "Asshole of Asia"! He does not deserved a war crime trial. Why waste time with this Asshole. With so much blood in his hands, he should be sentenced to die a slow painful death.
The families of his victims should take razors to slice him in pieces for every life he murdered. Shafted wooden poles into his asshole for every woman he and his soldiers raped. He and the Japanese Imperial Army deployed the policy of fear and no mercy to his victims. Should this bloody asshole deserved a place and worshipped in the heroic shrine in Tokyo? The descendants of his many victims should go to the shrine to pee and shit on the remains of this Asshole and his fellow tormentors!

tube1982100 is correct ... the Japanese shown in this video is not Gen. Yamashita, but Gen. Akira Muto.
Muto was Yamashita's chief of staff. He was called to the stand during Yamashita's trial to testify as a defense witness.
