Hi, Emily :) Keep up the good work! Are you using a distortion pedal of any kind, or is this the natural distortion of the amp? I think with some work on the tone, this would have sounded quite good! Ignore what these guys are saying. The majority of them probably struggle with their own playing to some degree, so their insults are pretty misplaced. Best of luck to you!

I like the way you play this song. you're very skilled, congratulations on all your hard work and dedication. just a piece of advice, if I may: since you're using such a trebly, high-gain distortion, you might wanna leave out the B string when playing the verse chords so it sounds thicker and it's easier to avoid unwanted noise, which I noticed happened a few times in the video. that's it. great job and keep it up! ;)

It sounds a lot like Randy; He had a strange fuzzy, treble-y sound; might not be considered great tone in any other context, but he owned it, & it worked well for those Ozzy records..

Tone is subjective, so don't worry about whether or not the Marshall or TS9 is overkill. My recommendation is to now play this material you've learned with a bit more feeling, a bit less mechanically or by rote. Put some "Emily" into it. Good luck and keep it up! -RM

@FatLadyKiller it doesn't sound like the amp to me anyways. I think the mic she recorded on wasn't up to par. High notes during the solo sounded clear but the low notes sounded muddy like the mic had a hard time picking them up. Setup was fine, she just needs a mic that can pick up her amp better.

@taariqtaariq The tone is from the digital input recording, you cant pick 2 separate gain levels at once with the setup she used, so what sounded right through the speakers when she was playing, ending up being too much gain for the software input after she normalized the EQ and mixed the track. The all tube amp you recommended would have the same problem as any other head. Its not the Head, its the input & software. Learn your stuff before you make recommendations.
