Uhh the Jetfire name was around way before the Skyfire name. They only changed it to Skyfire for legal reasons. Jetfire FTW!

Hasbro just had to rename him I don't know which was first and now I am confused. Now that I looked up the date for the toy I think Skyfire was first since the cartoon version came before the toy. I still prefer Jetfire though.

@optibotimus are you certain the name change was for copyright reasons? because there were copyright problems with the orignal figure itself, because the mold was stolen from bandai's macross/robotech line

i believe the character was always called jetfire in the comics, and had more apperances in the comics than the cartoon, so the name stuck

i'm tinkering with some settings...youtube seems to dislike wmv files...so my new video i'm saving now is in mpeg format...we'll see if that fixes some things like teh out of sync audio...but the quality hasn't changed...i've kept the resolution the same

Basically, when the wings go back, the plane goes faster, usually supersonic. You don't need a large wingspan to stay in the air when you're going really fast. It extends the wings when it goes slower. One of the most recogniseable planes that used this feature was the F-14 Tomcat jet, and being oft used on aircraft carriers where take-off and landing-area is limited, this is very useful to have.

Jetfire/Skyfire is freaking fantastic. I sadly broke one of the black barrels on mine. :(
