I heard this on KCRW the other night with my girlfriend, I never listen to that station, but she wanted to put it on... This song came on.... I loved it so much! :D
Lyrics are wrong in a couple places. Someone else already caught "come out with us tonight," but an earlier line in the song should be: "the emperor wears NO clothes." The tale referenced by the lyric is titled "The Emperor's New Clothes" but it is about an Emperor who parades around naked, but it takes a child to point this out to him. Hence "all the kids have always known that the emperor wears no clothes" - there's nothing special about always knowing someone wears "new" clothes.
