The Moroccan people are a very tolerant group. I have spent months in Morocco and only seen one woman totally covered in black--and all the Moroccans were staring at her as an anomaly. I am a Muslim young woman living in London, and there is nothing in the Quran which says a woman has to cover up the way these women have in the video. I wear a scarf, and cover all my hair, and my neck and part of my chin. I also use the scarf to cover the chest area. And I wear coats/ shirt dresses which cover my arms and go down to my knees. I do not need to cover in all black to meet the requirements in the Quran. It is excessive.

I think this is the case everywhere. People who maybe before were not practising Islam are now at the very least more conscious about their religion and identity. This is the beauty of Islam, if you think, normally, no matter how far someone is away from Islam esp for boys in London who might drink, do drugs etc they always have that identity and respect deep inside and sense of unity, unlike other religions, and in the end many come back into Islam and abandon their haraam behaviour.

The Moroccan people are a very tolerant group. I have spent months in Morocco and only seen one woman totally covered in black--and all the Moroccans were staring at her as an anomaly. I also doubt that this person has ever been to Morocco and know that these pictures were taken in a much more fundamentalist country. The majority of Moroccan women wear hijab, but NOT veils and gloves.

There is an interesting point I read here.It seems that in many countries where the dominant religion is Islam, there are many people willing to erase their own cultural roots, as in Morocco and the fact that the Berbers were the original dwellers. As a simple example,I am a Christian and I can pray in my own language but if I were forced to pray in German because only German is "holy",I wouldn't probably be a believer since a long time as I don't accept that a language is better than another.

I am a Muslim young woman living in London, and there is nothing in the Quran which says a woman has to cover up the way these women have in the video. I wear a scarf, and cover all my hair, and my neck and part of my chin. I also use the scarf to cover the chest area. And I wear coats/ shirt dresses which cover my arms and go down to my knees. I do not need to cover in all black to meet the requirements in the Quran. It is excessive.

Your country has allowed the West to come and implement their standards in your country. One more thing, I feel like how we look is very stressed, which is also very important, however, we need to refocus to the fundamental principles of Islam and ensure that they too are being followed. Only if muslims follow their way proudly will the find the Glory of the past and ofcourse the Glory of what's to come.

I would most certainly wear a niqab, I'm not living in a muslim country and I don't have the strength right now, and its sad that Moroccan women, living in a muslim country have to go through such a thing, just before this I was thinking how I want to live in a muslim country and full enjoy the rights muslim women have. However, it's a struggle, but good has constantly proved itself to prevail, inshallah it will again.

Also, I think Moroccan women who are patient and bear through any problems they may have and refuse the easy and haraam way will inshallah find much better husbands and a good life. Those that take the easy way will may have short term gain but in the end will have a worst life and only people who want to use and leave them

I think this is the case everywhere. People who maybe before were not practising Islam are now at the very least more conscious about their religion and identity. This is the beauty of Islam, if you think, normally, no matter how far someone is away from Islam esp for boys in London who might drink, do drugs etc they always have that identity and respect deep inside and sense of unity, unlike other religions, and in the end many come back into Islam and abandon their haraam behaviour.

First let me say that I am not muslim but why is it necessary for a woman to cover entire body from head to toe? Is it for the woman's benefit or for men's? muslim women in other parts of the world don't dress like this and it has nothing to do with western influences.
Also, the filthy westerners you refer to are helping to sustain the Moroccan economy. I bet you are not even Moroccan.
