  • Looking nice man real nice, where did you get the diamond plate door pannels? are they custom made?

  • Very nice tutorial. And an even nicer ride. I want it so bad!

  • love your trk....I wish you could put more info about the modifications you did in installing the engine.

  • Very nice project.

  • i would keep the same motor and @bigdicdangler your a turd

  • the IH 345 engine is a turd, dont listen to those homos, good engine choice

  • Dana 44 was a beast. Finally Willys could stop bragging there ass off that they had a tougher end in the Jeep.

Putting a Chevy engine is a huge mistake. You should know how damn reliable those scout engines were.

  • Awesome! LS1 is a great choice. Must be a blast and better MPG than the IH motor -- modern efficiency. Great Job!

  • Why isn't this truck attending the Rocky Mountain IH Rendevous? It is the 23rd of July, in Fairplay, CO.

  • Nice truck, if i get a scout id probably do that paint scheme, but id keep an ih engine in it.

  • hey thats a nice truck but its a shame that u didnt keep the IH engine would have been better and imnot saying any thing bad about corvettes but corvette parts dont belong in a IH

  • Amazing scout!!

  • nice truck!!!

ls1 is light years ahead of the old scout engines- best motor to use for most restomods- nice work- what was the total for all that work??

  • don't listen to the dicks, do what you want, rock on its still sick

  • so i take it the owner is a douche and will realize after owning it for 5 years and 10k miles that he won't ever really drive it and attempt to get what he put into it?

  • Hey I am a international fan all the way. but the 345 was far from a superior. for a good daily driver an ls1 is a good choice cheap to build and parts are available. and I think this is a restomod duh!!! build it the way you want!! I plan to build one my self starting with a new tub and chassis like a expedition or newer explorer and build for a daily diver and a ford/international mating would be the realistic choice.

  • all my scouts r still binder powered and aint never let me down

  • give us an update man!

  • Thats not a fucking scout... its a wana be scout that has a guy that has money that destroyed the scout....

  • International has made the most reliable vehicles i have ever seen...we use a scout and travelall on our ranch. all the vehicle we've been through over the years.. the rusted out international keep going. You shouldve kept the original motor.

  • cant believe this dumb fuck took the original motor out!! jackass...

  • ls1 ftw

  • You ruined a perfectly good Scout! LS1! What the Hell were you thinking? Just keep it on the road and let us men with real trucks do the offroading! idiot!

  • how did you get the bedliner to work in the front over the hump??? great looker!!!

  • VERRRRY nice alright, tho I'm not a great fan of the color yet it DOES work; Tastefully done, tho the 44 Dana up front woulda been nice. This isn't quite a dedicated desert-racer, rock-crawler, hunting-rig, trail-rider, mudder but should do pretty-well at each as well as being a flashy, fun daily driver. More obsessive than I woulda gone but sometimes the bug takes over. Def one of the top custom scouts I've seen. I'd a gone with a Cummins or Nissan turbo-diesel myself but the LS 1 IS very nice.

  • what kind of wheels are those?

  • Really good looking truck, not a fan of the chevy power aspect of it, personally i would have stayed with international. the color scheme is cool, if i ever get one i would paint it somwhat like that.

  • what a waste of a good truck put her back in the dirt sh ewill be much happier.

  • You ruined a perfectly good scout with a chevy engine even though I like Chevys I think you shouldve kept it's original motor

  • chevys the shit but ya id keep the international engin in it

  • @phomer1 damn RIGHT!! lol

  • nice expensive mods, very nice. I've been driving my 75-78 for 10 years all over with no mods and love the reliability, never left me stranded (drove it 35 miles once w/ broken motor mounts). Your scout is very sweet, mine is 3 colors and gets it done at less than 2k invested. Get a rollbar for safety, it can be done, easy. Scout it out.

  • All that work and they did not spend the extra few dollars to put a D-44 up front?

As well at least the front lower floors should have been beefed up with diamond plate as well....

Crap battery.. get Optimas, and ditch that brake master booster combo and install hydroboost.

And what douche said "you can't have a rollbar"??

  • holy shit there is so much room in that engine bay.. ide have to put a big block int here :D

  • Thats Sharp but I'd hate to work on it, seeing as the motor is sunk into the bay.

But overall it's a VERY sharp

  • Very nice!

  • sweet ride, good to see someone else has done the conversion. I put a LS1 into my 1979 traveler just over 4 years ago and never looked back. Looking to put a harrop supercharger on her for a bit of fun.

  • Indeed a very nice Scout, but to us purists, that Chevy motor doesn't belong in a Scout! The 345 or 392 has twice the torque of that motor and they will still be around when LS1's bite the dust.

  • Don't the old IH v8's make only 400ftlbs?

I'm pretty sure a LS1 is an upgrade in every possible way.

  • I don't agree! The 345 will out live the LS1. They can go 300,000 miles + with only basic maintenance! They also have all forged internals. The LS1 does have more power but not worth the headache and price tag. All said I do love this truck and I believe you should build it how you like it! Who cares what other people think! Do they drive it? NO!

  • That is the best internatinal scout I have even seen. How much does it cost to do a restoration like this I am very interested in doing this myself.

  • is it 4 sale

  • Very cool. Please join my group on face book group "I Own an IH Scout ", and post this video link. Would be happy to have you in the group!

  • that thing sounds sick man my step dad has one but it needs a little work but its still sick as hell...he even put a dump bed on it

  • that is a thing of beauty!

  • lol i got a 73' international pickup, 1210 series its pretty awesome so is yours

  • this winter I'm putting a 5.3/465/205 swap in mine with 14 bolt rear with 4 link and Dana 44 front. 35" boggers out back 35" mud kings in front.

Yours is awesome though! I'm totally jealous!

  • i'm a huge scout enthusiast and i love your restoration, that is a bas ass scout, what state are you in i'd love to see that thing in person?

  • Having had Scouts and an LS1, all I can say is "I am jealous!". Why can't you have a rollbar?
