  • I'm having a problem hearing my vocals when I record and go to play it back....I've checked my levels already what could be the problem???

  • @AonaranMan i have a mac..

  • I was just wondering if it's possible, like Logic and Cubase, to import audio that onto Record and mix/master it in Record?

  • WHAT IS THE CRACK FOR THIS?

  • Umm.... Umm.... Umm...

  • Is there a crack for this yet?

  • If I wanted to quiuckly set up for a band or with a large amount of inputs to record studio or live with different bands how quickly can this be set up to record? Is there a limit to the number of inputs to record @ 1 time? I was looking into the new Presonus firestudio with optical into the digi max. What are your thoughts on this or a different interface with 24 channels? B Nice if you or someone could show a video on how quickly you could set up for a live recording with several inputs.

  • the presonus firestudio only has 8 analog inputs where would you be getting the 24 from?

  • @coolmixes there is no limitation to howmany inputs you can have going at one time in Record, well as much as your computer can handle. depending on your audio interface, you will have a limited amount of inputs. unless you use an external mixer and record everything into one channel. on the other hand, you could use a usb mixer and assign channels in Record, such as a behringer usb mixer.

  • I reg all my products online, the computer I regs on is not the computer I do my music on. How can I get the info needed on my key so that I can use my software on my music computer.?

  • @CoOlTy3000 Nevermind this question, I did figure it out. = )

  • Great demo. Question. If I want to put the mixer on a seperate monitor can I do that? Can I use dual monitors with this program?

  • yes you can,& it looks beautiful!!!!

  • and not a bad one.....

  • ....F6..... THE RACK !

  • i have mbox 1 does anybody know if that interface is compatible with reason record?

  • yup but id use protools if your looking for quality

  • @Audiowithalex Quality? You must be joking. The person behind the program is the required quality. Its like saying getting a Yamaha Motif for $5000 will make you sound like Timbaland, when in fact, your playing skills are paramount. People please, Pro Tools is overpriced, overated and nothing special. You could even compare it to Audacity. Every prog is good, how you use it is important.

  • I shouldn't have said quality. what i mean is how much it can work with audio, yes a talented engineer could do very well with this program, but it isn't any cheaper than protools. Record cost me around $300 Cnd, protools only $350 for m-powered, unless your getting HD. protools is still better, plus you get A LOT of unwanted phase in record, which is something you can control in protools.

  • If you put it that way it makes sense!

  • @Audiowithalex Would you say phase is a problem with Record? I have Record, Reason and Logic... But I don't really understand phase... would you care to elaborate?

  • There is a phase reverse switch on the top of each channel in record called "inv" clicking this will flop the phase, if you want me to explain phase in greater detail message me! :)

  • @PastorJayJay well, there can still be quality issues due to limitations in individual programs, but Records mixer is a BEAST, so you can cover up its downsides. Better yet, why not rewire Record into Protools. You can keep all of your mixer channels and editing capabilities from both programs all at once. Record is low on CPU, so its fine running aside protools

  • Nice tuto, the demo song though they put for record is so gay

  • This should already be included within Reason

  • I love RECORD. I Know it pretty good and just started it.. I struggle big time with Pro tools

  • hahaha me 2 :P hahah

  • WOW nice one, but they need improve more staff in record

  • This software looks freakin amazing.

I mean I love reason for the beat making things and the MIDI stuff, but this will be great for me to record my guitar in and I can do some cool things, and make the music I want to and not just beat like stuff.

Yeah and can you use Reason patches, like could I load a Thor Polysonic Synthesizer into Record?

  • Most certainly, If you Buy the Reason and Record bundle, unless you have already Reason then you can buy record for almost half the selling price, unless of course you have a Pirated copy of reason, then they will not work in sync

  • can u plug in an akai mpc on this program since u got the line 6 pod?

  • You can use almost any controller for this program

  • i have a line6 guitar port riff tracker as well so it should work then as well

  • Im Not 100% about the Guitar Port, i know line 6 and Propellerhead are working together, but something tells me the guitarport, might not work. If you have a local Muisc store like Guitar center near you ask them, sorry that doesnt help!

  • this program looks really sweet. your video...not so sweet. you really dont say anything about what it does, you just kind of randomly click around and say that its an amazing program. its nice to see the screenshots and whatever because they dont show too much of that in the official video, but you could have definitely conveyed a lot more information in over 9 minutes. but i am glad that you think its amazing.

    thanks.

  • Well this is from when the beta was still out so i wasn't really allowed to show its main features, also, the description says it's a sneak peak, but i appreciate your concern

  • LOL Why don't you just make your own video and do what you wish he had done?

  • Is this program anything like Adobe Audition 2?

  • Well Audition is more of a digital audio workstation, where as this is more like, a simulator per say.

But if i had the choice between the two, i woudl go with record

  • Is there any way you can run ezdrummer into this to sample drums?

  • i have a question about punching in. when i set my punch in point and start recording i don't get any audio from the original take before the punch in actually starts, making it near impossible to get it right. how do you punch in and still allow monitoring of the original take?

  • Reocrds Automatic Monitoring is a little complicated some times, I'm not quite sure what you mean about punching in weather it be loops or pre-counts, but Your problem is most likely monitoring so go to Preferences>Audio> and at the bottom hit Manual Monitoring, this will prevent record form switching what Chanels will be monitored during playback/recording.

  • can i take my existing reason files and pop them into record then record guitar onto them??

  • Yes, very easily as well

  • so with this can i now record say . . . Motif sounds into record and intergrate it with Reason 4.0 ?

  • Yes you can record Your Yamaha into Record and then add Reason 4.0 elements to it.

  • Will somebody PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO TRACK MY MPC SEQUENCES INTO REASON. HEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Akai MPC? are you trying to run it as a controller, or using a built in sound bank from the machine?

  • i can use my M audio Ultra Pro interface right?

Can i use my midi Rackmount Sound Modules???

  • Yes you can use almost any interface .

I'm not sure what you mean by midi rackmount modules, if you mean dynamic processors such as analogue compressors or gates, then no

  • can i use record with degidesign 003 interface?

  • Yes most likely. im not 100% but i am 90% it will automatically Find the interface as long as its under your audio preferences in the program

  • SO IF I have reason I can automatically insert any reason instrument into record without starting up reason?

If so this makes reason obsolete ?

    Am I right ?

  • Yes you can, if you have a legitimate version of reason that is. And no, Reason is still and incredibly flexible program and you can still run it standalone from record while having record as well.

  • With this new product the props continue with the same ole policy:

Forcing their users to use 2 programs to do what one should be able to do in the first place....

  • hmmmm, sort of. You really can do A lot of Stuff in the program with out reason. They're not really forcing you, reason is more of a Music creation tool. Record is for musicians to record. but yes it is a bit of a hassle for people who do both.

  • what kind of interface do i need to use it? i was useing my podxt live to record guitar but idk how to make myself be able to hear the song while im playing? whats some good things to get to use this software?

  • Any sort of analogue-digital, usb or fire wire interface should work, if you want cheap go with an m-audio fast track

  • Do I need Reasons to make Record work? Or, does Record work alone without Reasons?

  • no you don't but it is a nice add on, the budle costs anywhere from 500-600 CAD

  • At Guitar Center it's 499.00 for the bundle. I was told that you can use ALL the great plug-ins from Reason in Record. Is that true? What would be the advantage of having the bundle?

  • technically speaking, they are not plug ins, but just Combinators from Reason using its cretin elements. i presume you live in the States which is why its around 500$ If you are looking to use Record as a primary DAW then yes id suggest you get the bundle, but if you're looking at going industry standard, get Protools LE or M-powered

  • there's no vst support, is there?

  • Sadly, No, that's why they didn't market it as a DAW.

  • @hollywoodbeats what is vst?

  • can u record yourself like for singing or rapping? and is it better than pro tools?

  • You can Record Anything you'd like. In Terms of Ease, Its very easy to use and very user friendly, i would suggest it to any one who wants to record but may not have the right tools, NO it is not better that pro tools in terms of processing, but for people who are musicians and not engineers, its great.

  • ok thanks

  • It's got no MIDI-out. WTF is that about??! What about my external synths & FX, all of which are MIDI.

  • Midi In's and Out are kind of fading in Software, i understand it kinda sucks but if your synths have a direct out then just put it in a line in through your interface and record should automatically pick it up, as for controlling if its usb then it shouldn't be a problem

  • MIDI isn't going anywhere! What are you talking about 'fading in software'?! Name me one piece of audio software that doesn't support the MIDI protocol? There aren't any. The annoing thing for me is that it features quite heavily in Reason/Record. They just have not bothered to offer MIDI-out. My Neptune 2 analogue synth has a built in MIDI > CV converter. Would have been nice to sync it to Record & use the RPG-8 & Matrix to control it. OH well. Maybe for Record 2.0 ;)

  • haha by fading i mean they're arn't as many Features regarding MIDI were as in older software MIDI was a lot more evident

  • I'm not sure about that either. It's certainly a lot more under the hood in Reason. But Reason has some of the best MIDI automation of any program I've ever used. I'm sure that if the Prop's implimented MIDI-out in Record it would be handled just as well. That's another reason why I'm so desperate to see it. For me it would make Record almost perfect as it is.

  • You can always sample your Neptune and then load it with NN-XT

  • @Dogboy73 when does record 2.0 come out?

  • can't you have those triggered with an extternal sequencer (which you can sync with the software....?

  • You will be able to buy Record for Reason users for $149, and this will let you upgrade to Reason 4 (which you need for Record) from any prior Reason version. So I found a used version of Reason 2.0 for $50, and will upgrade when Record comes out, for a total cost of $200 for Reason 4 and Record!

  • Upgrades to newer versions of reason are only from version 3 a believe so your plan May not work im not 100% but im pretty sure it only form version 3 and up

  • Check out the FAQ page for the p-heads site, they say 'record for reason owners' can upgrade all the way back from reason v 1.0!

  • well would you look at that now its juts a matter fo finding an older version ahah where did you buy yours from?

  • Craigslist!

  • and if u move a chord, u cand hear it all ! i looove this soft!

  • thanks man very good review very good i really love record too i got a beta code man its amazing and you know whats gonna be super sick? when you combine reason 4 and record thats makes me go crazy with excitment

  • Well you can combine reason 4 with Record and ive seen it been done it is amazing, but oyu need to have an online authentication code soo for all those little rebellions who didnt buy Reason will not be able to run both programs simotaniously which really does suck, so when Record comes out i will most likely buy it with a reason bundle for maximum productivity
