The only people that I really feel bad for are the innocent people, other than that i believe the so called "taliban" deserve this. This war is about OIL. Pakistan will get revenues from the pipeline, but not everyone is happy about losing their homes and their land for it. Both sides are Muslim, but the pipeline will not benefit both sides equally.

The ISI has been trying to establish an American military presence there to force these people into accepting a pipeline they never wanted. The excuse for sending troops there is "terrorism," but it's REALLY about oil and revenues for Pakistan. I think the terms of that pipeline will eventually be renegotiated if the US stays out of it.

The only people that I really feel bad for are the innocent people, other than that i believe the so called "taliban" deserve this. They started the taliban with ignoratant and corrupt young kids basically to "govern" and "punish" their own people. Since 9/11, wazirstan has been weak and the taliban (consisting of mostly arabs) exploited the area and turned it on its head. Anyone would take a 300 hundred dollar check and act as a taliban to help feed the family.

If the Soviets had not imposed cease-fire, India would have destroyed Punjab because the NaPak army had finished over 80% of its ordnance. They had less than 3 days or so of fighting capability left.
Anyways, there is no surrender treaty for 1965, if fools believe NaPak army won it.

The thing I believe must be done is to wake up the American public because they don't know (or don't WANT to know) what's going on here. I tell everyone I can, but it never seems to be enough.
Also, the war between Russia and Georgia has taken away much of the interest from here. Unfortunately, I think the US has its hands dirty in that one too, but I have no proof. There's plenty of proof about Waziristan, but we may have to wait until Georgia is forgotten to get the public's attention back.

Russia is a larger threat then Pakistan. South Osseta declared itself a country a couple months after Georgia became independent from the USSR in 1991. But not one country, nor the UN recognized it. Then when the cival war between South Osseta and Georgia happened (2008) and 8 Russian Peacekeepers went to far into Georgian perimetre, so the Georgians opened fire, and killed them. So Russia invaded, and the ceasefire is being used to their advantage.

No,not everyone knows this. I figured it out a couple days ago, but the media says otherwise. USA gave Georgia the go to attack Russia, and USA wants a pipeline there and stuff. Also, I did not bomb them, niether did my country. But, the Russians and Ossetians were looting vilages and reportably killing young men in the villages during the ceasefire. And what I said was 100% from the media, and usually the media is accurate.

Understood. I believe the US is only concerned about oil since there's a pipeline extending from the Caspian through Georgia. Of course, everyone worries whenever the Russians use military force, but the US might actually use that as an excuse to send more troops into the area, which would be a catastrophe for everyone involved. Not only would it kill our economy, but it would give Bush a workable means of destroying any relations we have left with the tribal factions in the region.

Exactly and our economy has fallen enough. Well I am from Canada and when the US economy falls so does the Canadian. But my own views on this is like Russia has something planned. Because for one this is during the Olympic games, and the second one is last year (Or a couple years ago) Russia planted a Russian flag in Canadian territory in the Artic, and there is quite a bit of oil in the seabed there. So Russia might be using this as an excuse for oil also, just as you said.

No. It's because the U. S. and Pakistan want to build an oil pipeline through Waziristan to Pakistan's coast where an export terminal will be built to ship oil from the Caspian Basin.
This war is about OIL. Pakistan will get revenues from the pipeline, but not everyone is happy about losing their homes and their land for it. Both sides are Muslim, but the pipeline will not benefit both sides equally.

Also, if you check my vid you'll find segments of congressional transcripts from '98 (during Clinton's presidency) where the government supports Unocal in its efforts to start that pipeline. As of now it's supposed to start in 2010 and be finished by 2015, but only after the conditions are safe. I wonder how many innocent lives will be lost before that happens!

Interestingly enough, before Unocal came along, the Taliban already had an agreement with Bridas Corp from Argentina. Even Osama Bin Laden supported Bridas to build the Trans-Afghan Pipeline.
Unocal complained to our government it wanted a more stable government than the Taliban to work with. So after 9/11 we invaded Afghanistan and conveniently kicked out Bridas AND the Taliban. Now Unocal has it all, including the government they wanted. (Hamid Karzai is a "former" Unocal employee.)

If you're talking about coming to Pakistan to liberate these people, YOU'RE WRONG. The ISI has been trying to establish an American military presence there to force these people into accepting a pipeline they never wanted. The excuse for sending troops there is "terrorism," but it's REALLY about oil and revenues for Pakistan. I think the terms of that pipeline will eventually be renegotiated if the US stays out of it.

actually pashtun, despite the fact the east is trying to paly up the current downfall of the us economy they fail to notice the fact that it has been static for several months and has in fact been crawling back up, the same happened during vietnam... ressesions happen now and again, Britian was very close to one just like the US has narrowly avoided one. Still, 5 years down the track and ill be surprised if the US economy is going anywhere but up, thats the trend of the last 70 years.

Mahmoud Ahmad, Omar Sheik wired money to Mohamed Atta for the 9/11 attacks. They want a US military presence in the region probably to protect that pipeline.

Of course, that's my opinion, but it makes sense the ISI would want to protect anything that would bring the government more revenues. Oil means big money for any of these countries, but the Taliban and Pashtuns got pushed out of the deal when we nullified their original agreement with Bridas Corporation from Argentina. (Bridas was supposed to build that pipeline originally. Now it's Unocal.)
