I am a monthly Thrive customer, and I'm very impressed with the products I've used so far. The eggs, as you said in another video, are really delicious! And I *love* the corn! :)
just wondering, could you do the calculations on how much food each of the egg and milk cans would replace, like in the gallons for milk, how many eggs? just a curious idea since you should be able to know how many eggs you eat per month, to six months and beyond, at least on average.
I haven't heard of "thrive". I'm currently looking into different options on long term food storage so thanks for getting the word out on another option.
Well, you make a great case for this product. And I was thinking about the food savings also. <$100 a month on food is impressive. $50 a week isn't rare when purchasing ordinary groceries, especially with increased prices.
My sister in law is a rep for Thrive and she has parties in the Seattle area so if you are interested I can give you her contact info in an email. The parties are a good place to try their products before you buy and you can order just what you want instead of a preselected set.
Great Vid. I just tried Wise Food and thought it was below par (yuck), over seasoned and the thing that really turned me off is that, although it is packed in nitrogen and claimed to last 25 years it only comes in 4 person serving size bags. They will send you a sample. And I highly suggest tasting this before you order!!! I agree that after 40 years of camping Mountain House set the standard I use to judge all other foods. I dont love them all but I like them alot!
Our family recently tried a number of Thrive products. Our favorites were the Freeze Dried peaches, pineapple, broccoli, celery and dehydrated carrots. The raspberries were very tart, but they would be good for making sauces or cooking with. Thrive is the best quality and best tasting dried foods we have tried so far. Thanks for the video...hope you do a follow up after you try the food.:)
mountain house # 10 cans have been sold out for the past month or two. . . They may not have any available for at least a few more months, best luck is to search else where online. However, they are expensive. . . so you have to know what you're really wanting to do. I rotate through foods I eat and use (Mountain house freeze dried) for backpacking and sometimes hiking or whatever. . . much easier for me at least.
I'm a big fan of having stored food as well as precious metals. They say you can't eat gold but also you can't put your food pantry in you backpack if you need to relocate suddenly. Both of them have their uses.
I just use the LDS center. 700 bucks for a pick-up load of 30+ is too good a deal. I was worried about the Mormans pushing religion on me, but they didn't at all.
Please post when you try the Milk product. I saw a video that said that "it taste like whole milk:. I can't believe that to be true as any powder milk product, while find for baking, just never has pasted the taste test.
@szybkilopez566 yeah i hear it costs nearly $2000 for a cheap freeze dryer. wish i had one though. once you get one the rest is easy as long as you have electricity.
"Textured Protein" should read "Just better than dog food". Have you tried the LDS cannery food storage? I used to make elaborate forts/castles out of my moms LDS food storage. Most of the stuff has a really good shelf life, but then again your options aren't that exotic. If you do try the LDS cannery I HIGHLY recommend the potato pearls. They have a shorter shelf-life span than the flakes, but the taste is amazing! I rarely eat regular mashed potatoes thanks to them.
@beast12101 No, I know what I'm talking about. FIFO and LIFO are two different terms used in accounting. And yes LIFO is like milk (oldest used first).
@ninja5672 "last in " would be the newest thing, it doesnt make sense. the "first in" is the oldest. FIFO is taught by washingting state health dept for teaching rotation
@ninja5672 Damn, ninja5672. This is sooo passé and such a "social no-no!" that I admire you had balls to make such a fool of yourself (to put it VERY mildly)
Writing "first?" is a form of exhibitionism, it's like walking around with a big sign, which reads: "I score low in a WAIS test". Seriously, seriously uncool.
I sell shelf reliance if you would like to find a consultant please go to emergency preparedness pantry.com

Thrive Dry Milk is great, better than the instant milk. I drink their dry powder milk every day. Was shocked at how good it was.

Interesting.
If you don't like some powdered milk I make my own hot chocolate mix instead of using the store bought stuff. I carry if in a 16oz Nalgene bottle.
Thanks for sharing, I look forward to the update.
