Not sure if you still check the comments still on this video, however if you do I would be VERY grateful for a reply. I know the bike was not your personal project. However, could you possibly tell me (if you know) how fast the bike was going, according to it's speedometer, before it took off? (essentially how fast was the wheel spinning the propeller and how fast was the craft moving before it lifted off?)

@thateldoo another one that can't read a description - so you get to your destination and remove the wings (in 10 min) and then what, have a bath? The attached bike leaves you with transportation, and that was the whole point!

The back wheel drives a friction drive wheel not unlike a dyno.

It is so simple a fool could do it...one did,Ha!

Just be sure to note that clicking noise at the beginning is me doing up my seatbelt you cant imagine how un-nerving it is using a seatbelt on a bike.

BTW that video was just a taxi test..the bloody thing would not stay on ground ..oh well.

@MarieahM Yeah um, me and my buddy are attempting to make a flying gokart in industrial arts, and knotised that your motorbike actually worked. So we were wondering What the wingspan, and wing surface area is, the combined weight of you and the bike, and the lift coefficient of the hang glider is he knows it.

He lived way outside London and used to fly to an aerodrome on the outskirts of London and then dismantle and ride into town.

I'm a huge fan of this kinda thing.

I USED to ride bikes and I USED to fly helicopters until a little accident lol. Bloody CAA won't let me fly anymore ;-(

I presume bike can be ridden WITH wings folded up ON the bike ?

Not such a joke really, as the Flying Motor Bike is also a glider. You only need to run the engine to reach the desired altitude, then turn it off and glide. No need to turn it on again unless you need more altitude.

I totally thought of this and planned on building one. This is brilliant. Notice the rear wheel is suspended so it can spin freely so the "skybike" is propelled by the prop but powered by the motor when in flight mode. This could revolutionize transportation. Seriously. I want one.
