  • No comments in two years....hmm...have you grown up yet? Because your immature and condemning attitude combined with your total lack of wisdom is nothing one should want to carry with them their whole life. You've spouted off so much that is wrong about, just about everything there's not enough space to answer it. Just because your life is bitter and self centered doesn't mean others can't be happy. Hope you've grown past all that by now. If not, sad for you.

  • Good video :) Keep up the good work

  • I don't mean to be too rude, but I think you ought to go back and read the Bible for yourself, and maybe a few commentaries on the things for which you seem so concerned. That would be a very sage-like thing to do. Maybe try actually reading one of those books you're standing in front of.

  • As for the examples of multiple wives and sleeping with servants, there are two types of situations where this occurs in the Bible

    1) the extramarital affair is seen in good conscience to be the will of God (sometimes he actually blesses those unions) for the purpose of having viable offspring - usually because the first wife was barren, and it's important to have children

    2) the text is critical of such a relationship, even though it's going on; or it's silent to it bc the Law already says no!

  • Sodom and Gomorrah, was a place which practiced regular, open rape and sodomy (that's where we get the word form actually), and even wanted nothing to do with the angels that visited them, except have sex with them. They were extremely corrupt. To compare smoking, drinking and recreational drug use to the abomination of a completely immoral culture is ludicrous. I'm not saying drug abuse is right - it's just not the same thing that was going on in Sodom and Gomorrah.

  • Grambo, It can depend on the type of drug use. I agree absolutely, but drugs can lead to sexual immorality.

TheSensibleSage, from where do you derive morality? I use the Bible and my conscience, as the Bible commands.

  • Grambo, the Sodom and Gomorrah reference was a joke; I take an advanced honors biblical studies course; and i have personally bought and read every one of the books im "standing in front of". So shove it. That said, I derive my morality from the effect my actions have on others, because i think that man is the measure of all things, rather then a 2000 year old collection of myths and legends compiled by desert dwelling fanatics.

  • Everyone, in a sense, derives their "morality from the effect my[their] actions have on other." In fact, as you should know, the Bible is literally full of examples supporting your method of judgment. So that's fine. What makes you judge the effects though? Why is one effect good and another bad? "man is the measure of all things", is that a Freemasonry line? What measures man?

  • I believe stealing is wrong because you derive someone of the right to their property, torture is wrong because you derive someone of the right to their health, capital punishment is wrong because you derive someone of the right to their life. And no, protagoras actually, though its been repeated many times, because some realize that what measures man is man itself, thats part of what the saying means...

  • how does the wife obeying her husband make her inferior to him? You've read that into it. And the Bible sees husband and wife as equally important and valuable. NOWHERE does the bible teach that "the woman is inferior to the man". Just because you say it clearly does, doesn't make it true. And the wedding reception was "as immoral as Sodom and Gomorrah"??? because people smoke and drank? you haven't even read the Bible, or you're at least not honest about what it says. Spare us your "sage" shock

  • dude, in the OT and in the whole bible it does not say women are infrior to men. if u notice all the men that had more than one wife, who had premarital or extra merital sex were eventualy punished and had bad mariges and ruined family life. God made the family between one man and one womam, equals united b4 Him. Marige is a basic and clear biblical doctrine. i hate it wen ppl say the bible be-littles women, it doesnt, just read it...

  • 1 Corinthians --

11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

11:8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.

11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

    That's NEW Testament, bub.
