Seydel 1847's no better than the Soloist Pro? I might guess brass reeds are more resonant than stainless steel. So far, the world isn't drowning in stainless steel trumpets. Thanks Harpsnake. Nice playing!
Actually, brass and steel are both similarly resonant. The reason that trumpets are brass is because brass in a natural killer of germs. If trumpets were made of steel, a lot of nasty stuff would grow in them.
Holy fuck I didn't even know you could play that sort of music on a harmonica. Very nice. I'm impressed

that was a really cool sound when you where bending, almost sounded middle eastern...

Thanks for the inspiration, with the middle eastern stuff.
How many notes is it possible to get out of a harmonica?
aloysiousaloha 3 years ago
There are 20 reeds so 20 notes... but on a diatonic harmonica, ALL the notes are there, many of them are "hiding".
You have to find these hidden notes by draw-bending, blow-bending, overblowing, and overbending... which takes a lot of practice.
Great fun with each level of achievement !

I probably should of said "20 obvious notes"... then all the hidden/missing notes are "not obvious", but they are there too!

Are they the future?

They may be the future.
The direction is really the right one, I think we have support them by buying their new harps (no, don't get anything from seydel).

Actually 1847 is better and stainless reeds are louder, brighter and more resonant.

I've never heard anything like that "Middle Eastern Stuff" on a harmonica. Very interesting.

Check out Jasson Ricci (here@utub), he's doing amazing stuff in these scales.
I can also strongly recomend "streiml" and of course the N1 - Howard Levy.
