lol its a chihuahua....really. that funny as heck, i have a 2 pound pomchi, she's the same way. super sweet usually, but a fwe things and theyre total evil. they're TINY its cute, and it doesnt actually hurt
people have the stereotype that chihuahuas are mean, but really the owner is what makes the chihuahua appear mean. the owner teases and irritates and provokes the chihuahua have to defend itself... chihuahuas are actually very intelligent dogs
This is called 'food proud' and ALL dogs should be cured of it as soon as it starts. It's easily done by taking the food away for 10 mins. Repeat at least 3 times so the dog is clear on how he should behave. These make funny vids but you have to think if somebody else bent to stroke your dog while it had food? Even tiny dogs have a vicious bite. If you teach him how to behave while he's young you will have years of pleasure. I'm not criticising, just offering some friendly advice. Enjoy him.
That is excellent advice for making the problem worse. Repeatedly taking the food away teaches the dog that human approach means the loss of food and does not make the dog 'clear on how he should behave'.
It is actually called "resource guarding" and there are specific training protocols for addressing the behavior which can be learned from a professional trainer and not a comment on YouTube.
your Chihuahua needs therapy!!!!!! Omg so does mine. I thinks she bipolar. And she's really crazy. LOL all problems aside you have a really pretty dog
Dogs need to know who is top dog in the home. All dogs need to know that thier master is top dog and has the right to give food and take food from them as they see fit. (although I dont agree with taking a dog's food) they must be taught this early on...thats how I trained my dog...I would reach down and take his food and then give it back to him. He learned that I was in charge and that I was the one that was responsible for giving him his food and that I had control on it. Cute dog btw.
I lol'ed.

Wow you must be the world's sissiest dog trainer ever... Not even being able to train a chihuahua into a well trained dog...
I wish you all the luck with you're border collie when you get it, but I hope it'll give you hell XD

Thank you, he is just a very spoiled brat, but when they are three pounds, you tend to let them get away with more :)

its called food agression you need him trained out of that he can hurt a small child if she tries to go near him while hes eating
guitardoode2000 3 years ago 6
@guitardoode2000 The owner probably dosen't have small children and small children need to learn not to take things from strange dogs.
