The best first step is to take your money out of these financial institutions, I'm currently taking my money out of crooked Bank of America and putting it towards a financial institution I actually believe in.

If it was my decision, not only would I allow them to fail, I would not allow them to continue to exist. I would break them up, go after those responsible for fraud during the housing bubble, claw back stealth bail-outs that was given to them via AIG. I would make accounting fraud again illegal(reimpose mark-to-market).

I would crush them so mercilessly that everyone is afraid to borrow to large institutions for decades.
