@NYMegaMan well a roomer is going around that the state of California is passing a natural gas law, saying all garbage trucks are required to run on natural gas, my allied waste is replacing all their trucks with new natural gas trucks, i'm trying to guess what they look like, so when i saw your truck i thought maybe it might be it. but my allied waste doesn't invest in mack they go autocar with mcneilus body!
Great video! The intro is funny haha. Nice to see something different. That is one nice truck too. I think I need to get a job with Republic! That tipper looks like it could be a pain in the ass. I never understood the corner mount, and that one looks like it is mounted a lot higher than most. Do you do mostly manual collection with it or are there a lot of carts on the routes?
@mcbombtings Mostly manual except for people that buy there own toters from like Home Depot and Lowes. The height actually doesn't matter because the tipper swings out and grabs the cart. I couldnt use this bucket on a cart route because of that angle
Nothing nicer than when the truck is exceptionally clean upon delivery... then it's dirty after the first dump :/ Cool machine you get to work with, looks mad and I bet there's a nice sound to it eh? Like the lifter, compact and tucks away comfortably =] Oh mad shot of the hopper too (did I see a sofa?), there's a crazy slope to the blade!
@r6man2 You would think the triangular tipper is awesome but it is a huge flaw from McNeilus. It is much easier to just pull the tote to the bucket and tip it with a side mounted tipper, especially if it on a curb. With this one you have to ajust the tote to an angle then tip it and if the tote is up on a curb you have to park away from the curb and wheel it on the street then tip it. McNeilus has been in the business too long to put out poorly placed tippers. Someone at McNeilus isn't thinking
VERY well done video! I bet you are happy to get that truck. Lets hope all that new technology doesn't slow you down too much. I have a friend that has a new Republic MRU front load and it's been down quite a bit... says it has problems with the regen system.
Either way, now you can't go on vacation - LOL - we all know what happens to a truck when you leave it for another driver to operate... they usually find a way to break it or crash it.
@FormerWMDriver Yeah our new MRUs are down alot because of electric problems. As for going on vacation, its too late. One guy put the bucket threw the windshield. So yeah the driver side windshield in the video has already been replaced. I told my supervisor to never use my truck if i am not there
Awesome new truck! When the company I worked for started getting the new front end loaders that had all the eco-friendly features, they also had a thing where the engine fan would reverse direction every couple hours and blow all the dust out for 2 or 3 minutes.
@lahluv Pretty much you stop the truck, pop the brakes, push a button on the dash and the engine revs close to redline to blow out the particle filter in the exhaust. At least that's how it works on the Autocars, I assume it's the same with a Mack or close to it.
@NYMegaMan Holy shit every 5 hours? Our Autocar's do it every few weeks or so, depends on how hard you run the truck. We have 3 ASL's so they get run pretty hard but our FL gets regen'd more often. GREAT video though, love seeing brand new trucks, although it's so weird to get in one and have it smell like a new car. Haha only a matter of time before all the paint wears off that front can, I know it didn't take long with our Labries!
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOL video, love the rapping at the start! How does it pack? Do you find garbage "rides" on the packer blade? I disliked that with the McSqueeezus bodies! Love the changes to the Mack Le!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@trashratt It packs decent. With a bulky load i can only get about 12.5 tons max but with no bulk I can get about 16 tons max. The most I had on her was 17.21 tons with no bulk and the garbage was soaking wet. She was a slug pulling that much weight. If you look at the blade at 2:41 it bows in then out pushing the trash back into the hopper and not over the blade. Never seen the blade of an older mcneilus
dude great video. i had the same truck toady 2/25/11. but mine was waste management

As much as I am totally getting off of the whole McNeilus kick, I got to say that they do make some nice looking rigs.

Also, never seen such a small tailgate on a FL, that's so odd. Our Labrie FL's have like an 8yd tailgate.
