Larry Hagman is a living legend and he gave us the best Villain in TV history. I dont think anyone can top JR EWING. He did it all.. Had his wife committed to a nut house while pregnant mortgaged his parent's ranch for collateral over an oil deal, Over threw a foreign Govt. Slept w/his wife's sister was going to blow up the mid east oil fields to bring crude up in price. Dallas covered it all. it was the original in storylines so any other show from now on will only copy from them.

Origionally the producers tried to get Robert Reed to do the shooting but he was so badly typecast they were afraid the ratings and hype would not have been as great. Reed ended his career in disgrace afterwards, living out his life in a rooftop apartment in above a garage in Pasadena.

I had heard that one of the hold ups of getting the Dallas movie moving forward is because Larry Hagman won't sign on.

Not sure why Larry doesn't want to be part of something he created basically.

Sue Ellen did shoot JR Ewing in a later series. It looked like a routine shooting compared to the original and best. Dallas is still great in the later series but for some reason people being shot and falling off buildings just looked like an average ending to a series haha!
