  • truly A-Mazing playing and tone-can't believe the sound. please-more demos.

  • God what a great touch you have. If Harrington ever walks away from SD, you're the guy they need.....

  • great playing and sound man! that amp is great for blues!

  • dam thats nice

  • check Prince's "Joy In Repetition" !

  • hey.. i got my tele now and am looking for the right amp.. does the Engl screamer fit nicely? sounds awesome on the recording

  • I'm not sure about this track but one of the other video demos was backed by a JamStation JS-5. I recognized the track. Love the way this guy plays. And the sound.

  • Great job.

  • great

  • Either you have or you don't, man is this sweet... !

  • this is smooth jazz

with a little bit of blues/bossa thrown in

    but not funk at all

  • Excellent sound & feeling!

    THANKS!

Where can I find this background-play-along?

  • wow

  • i have watched many videos from you, but this has far the best tone :)

  • very unique tone with wonderful harmonics...

which model Joe Barden and position you use in this video?

  • Really like the tone and playing.

  • Very nice! That was great.

  • Yeah... I saw the bridge Barden.

  • I have the "perfect" tone on one of my teles with Texas Specials in the 4th position (neck/little bridge), but the hum is unforgiving. I have Bardens on a couple of my fiddles, and know they're the answer to quiet. Question: Are you using the neck position here and is the bridge also a Barden. Thanks Bud... hip sound.

  • BTW..Does Larry Carlton use Barden's?

  • Lovely Tone.

I only have one tele (52 reissue) and would never want to do any mods to it.

I do however have a strat or two that I'd be willing to experiment with. I might try some of these Barden's... thanks for the hot tip!

  • Nice. Is Larry Carlton one of you influences? I have a Tele as well and just love it.

  • excellent playin m8. Do i hear a delay in there in the effects loop?

  • thanks. Its a boss dd-3.

  • lovely vibe. I swear by my bardens

  • thanks!

  • Nice sound. As I°m happy Screamer owner, can you reveal your settings?

  • red channel. pretty much all settings at 12 o clock. thanks.

  • You got tone like that out of the ENGL Screamer?! AMAZING! (now I REALLY want this amp)

  • yes, its an engl screamer. thanks.

  • Very nice.......Tastefull,heart and soul for sure...

  • Great stuff!!

Can you please tell me where you got that backing track from and its name!

    Many Thanks,

  • ......., Great tone....!!! yeps!!

  • Is it amp drive or pedal drive? Great playing. Keep up the good work.

    Kind regards

  • just the amp. thanks.

  • Sweet \m/

  • Nice! I really like your sound & tone, you're a really good player, too.

  • this guy is fantastic! hes got great tone, great technique and great impro skills! where can you get those backing tracks from, they sound very good

  • this was hot.

  • Are those replacement Bardens humbuckers?

  • They are Joe Barden pickups.

  • thats NICE TONE! real good man real good!

  • Very Steely Dan,really love this stuff!

  • Hi! Great video! I was planning to buy an Engl Screamer, but it is not possible for me to try it. So it would be very useful for me to see a demo of it including some rithm playing and some swithcing between the four channels. I'm scared about the screamer is too "metal" oriented for me! I mostly play blues and rock and some 70's hard rock. Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot

  • Those Bardens are super sensitive.

  • is this an improvvisation, a composed, or what? I like it a lot. your sound too.

  • Joe Barden Pickups! that's what they're asking about. Best Tele pickups in the world!

  • You need to be playing with Steely Dan because this is the perfect sound. Plus you have the chops!

  • thanks man. I wish I could! :)

  • ey dude wich scales do you u use i really like your tone and playin

  • Yeah that's just what I thought. The changes he's playing over sound like Steely Dan as well.

What's that scale he keeps using it's not pentatonic I don't think?

  • It could be a 'jazz melodic minor' scale.

That's just a fancy way of describing a major scale with a minor (or flat) third. Whenever you have a dominant 7th chord play a jazz melodic minor scale starting a 5th up. Say you have a F7 chord, play a C major scale with a flat third. (C-D-Eb-F-G-A-B)

    It'll sound great!

  • Thanks, I'll give it a go. Mind you - I will expect to sound just like Larry Carlton straightaway - nothing less! :0)

  • Thanks, you sound real good

  • Would really like to know the details on the amplification, sounds right up my ally

  • I use an Engl Screamer combo. Half way through the tune, I switch from the low gain channel to the high gain one.

  • you play good, very nice. keep rockin'

  • sweet tasteful playing - nice one

  • Very smooth, restrained and tasteful playing! Well done!!! Sensational Tele sound - what amp are you using?

  • thanks. I used an Engl Screamer combo.

  • Nice nice nice. Is that a Carvin there?

  • thanks. The guitar in the background is a hand-made by italian luthiers www.jacaranda.it.

  • Ahh, I thought it was a Carvin from the headstock. How much was it?

  • too much....:(

  • Nice, I like it
