They recommend you flush it out under regular tap water to remove sand, salt, etc. -- probably a good idea. So yes, clean it after you use it. Overall it is very sturdy though, has been dropped quite a few times, still works fine.
hi i just got one, and i hear not to put it under direct tap water , like ptu it in a bcket and mve the lense thingie open and shut, but im scared to use it in salt water
Not a problem, just rinse it when you get back. even if you didn't rinse it is not going to just stop working -- just more chances that sand, salt, etc. will get in somewhere. so just wash it off later.
i also have this camera, im going to florida in a week and im scared to put it in the water. so youve had no rust or anything right?

No worries. The body is made out of some rust-proof materials, not a mark on it after more than a year of use.

have had no problems cleaning it under running tap water. seems pretty durable.
