Perhaps Obama SHOULD remove Gen Amos if he isn't up to the job of upholding the civil rights of his fellow Americans without bellyaching & inventing preposterous reasons to justify his antiquated prejudisms. Gen McChrystal got in trouble because he allowed his men to behave in a rogue fashion, disrespecting the chain of command (Obama). Gen Amos sounds more concerned with undermining Obama's repeal policy than instituting it. What would stop him from running the Marines in a rogue manner?

Men who are so insecure about sexuality should not be allowed into the military. Mature adult men don't throw hissy fits because the man next to them is gay.

I think military leaders are paid to protect the people under their command. if that's how he feels then he should speak his mind vehemently. If in fact he was later proven right, he would be hailed a hero. If he's wrong then he should be held to account too. That's my take. I am active military, and favor repeal.
