I think this version sounds better with the obvious exception of the vocal. Albini needs to get over it, and stop burying the vocals on all his recordings. But the bass in particular sounds fucking phenomenal on this version.

Ken Andrews of Failure was a guy who recorded his first album with Albini and was extremely dissapointed with Steve´s work. I think even he´s a master of analog and rought recording, his mixing techniques are awful, and some bands who need clear voice, clear drum sounds, finally get a crappy demo sound. Kurt wasnt a "mozart" to get a sound, he just like the punk new wave basic sound, so Albini provided him the right sound, but for certain bands, Albini just doesnt work at all.

The main difference is that there aren't vocal effects, the vox are mixed lower, and the final mix has a lot more vocal overdubs.

@Clerks0 I do agree with you on this, she is innocent until proven guilty, if ever. There is far too much conspiracy around here BUT at the same time we do need conspiracy theorists because thats when people think outside the box. Things arent exactly black and white when it comes to Kurt's death, which is why there are so many questions left unanswered, yes, sometimes people do wanna point the finger, but we cant rule out that the finger is wrong, we need an investigation to end it all.
