The music in this feturette is totally a rip off of other stuff. Up until 0:22 it sounds like "Prologue" from Hook, then it sounds like "Max Meets Alison" from Hocus Pocus lol... I don't mean the music written for the film... just the music in this video. I love that they show some alternate takes from scenes too heh
I can't wait to see this movie! I love the Disney classics...I wish they would make them like they use to...but alas - there are few fairytales left that haven't already been covered by Disney
@ztslovebird Well, technically, Rapunzel (the character) and the Frog Prince (in the form of Fiona's father) were used in the second and third movies. Yet Disney has made a movie based on both The Frog Prince and The Frog Princess, and is now doing a movie of the story of Rapunzel, titled as Tangled. So what's stopping Disney from doing a Rumpelstiltskin movie?
@darthvalor07 As far as Dreamworks is concerned, nothing. But I can't picture Disney making a movie about a little man who, in every rendition of the tale, has some horribly graphic death (rips himself in half, falls into Hell, blows up, etc). Maybe they'll move on to Artemis Fowl . . .
Thank god Disney is going back to its roots and making ORIGINAL classics instead of cheapuels with rude talking animals and trashy pop humor. Leave that to Shrek or Pixar. Disney we need more traditional classics!
Pixar is WAY classier than dreamworks. just saying.
in fact isn't pixar a branch off of disney? so basically disney and pixar are the same...ish.
imo Pixar itself has put out good movies that deserve to be remembered as classics. (i never saw cars, but) i haven't seen one pixar film that hasn't been really really really really really good.
oh yeah but pixar does all that modern CGI films (which I think is better than Dreamworks too). I wish Disney would make more traditional 2d animated classics/fairytales that they were famous for.. esp during the 1990s.. Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontasa, Little Mermaid etcetc. Its been AGES since something of that genre came from Disney. No wonder Enchanted is such a hit.
First, Pixar now belongs to Disney. this transaction brought in the company Steve Jobs (iCEO of Apple and Modern Da Vinci) And Lasseter (The chief artist of Pixar and then Ex-Disney guy) into the company.
If we add the current project of 2D animation "The Frog Princess", I believe that Disney got the Pull, the Push, the Will and the Talent to initiate a third golden age of 2D animation.
I know the feeling. the problem is that, even if there's 2D animation in "Enchanted", it was sub-contracted out of Disney. You see, the last CEO of disney closed the Animation studios. Re-Opening the whole sector will take time but I believe it will be great.
First, all those artists are still alive and around. If the Disney headhunters ask nicely, they might get some of them back.
then, remember that "Beauty & The Beast" was entirely made by a brunch of young upstarts who just wanted to make their own "Cinderella". We might have some good surprises.

I wish Disney would have found the artists that made Beauty and the Beast instead of The Little Mermaid for Enchanted. Giselle looked exactly like Ariel. With the wide mouth, the whole deal. She was far from pretty.
Edward was generic and didn't look at all like James Marsden. It was almost as if they put all their effort into Sarandon's character for any kind of resemblance.
I'm gonna see this during Thanksgiving break. It looks so astounding! Amy Adams is the perfect live-action version of a Disney Princess. And James Marsden as a hunky prince?! (lets out a girlish squeal) Need I say more?
This movie looks hysterical. I think I just fell in love with Amy Adams. I'm also going to watch Sleeping Beauty & Snow white to warm up for this one. Marsden is classic, slowly becoming a favorite of mine.
a must watch animated film...................

I knew that face looked famillar. It was hard to tell in the movie that was her because she was such a real cynic.

They're currently making Rapunzel to premiere in 2010. I guess after that they'll have to do tales like Rumplestiltskin. Ha!
eaglesflight777 3 years ago
@eaglesflight777 Nope; Dreamworks is stealing Rumplestiltskin for their final Shrek flop (first two rocked; latest one sucked).

I didn't realize when Narissa raised her arms and showed Giselle on the ground, that was also on Sleeping Beauty. Very nice!

yes i thought they were totally insane to shut down their burbank studios. its such a shame to axe all those talented folks.
