@jmegym97 Not too scary as coasters go, just itimidating, for your first ride I suggest a middle row, not the front or back, and one of the center seats as opposed to a seat at the end of the aisle. With the new standup coaster in the park, the line for Superman should be fairly short.

@colorfulcrisis No not scarier, it might scare you to look at it, but since the ride is so small it isn't bad at all. Maybe for your first ride sit in a center seat on one of the middle rows. My daughter started riding this as soon as she was tall enough at 8.

@LilyRrroach Yes Tatsu is much bigger and newer. Tatsu is about 64' taller, the first drop is only 10' taller, the pretzel loop (best element) is 46' taller, about 950' longer, and 11 mph faster. The only drawback Tatsu has, is it is 2500 miles and 10 hours further away from my house than Superman.

It is the SF flagship park when you see all the rides they have there, GA is the 'red headed stepchild' of the SF chain. The Superman ride was plopped down in what used to be the parking lot, so there is little theming...not to mention much smaller in size.

Depending on your level of bravery. I have heard of this being the first coaster for some people. At Great Adventure there are several smaller heads always up coasters you can warm up on if you don't think you can stomach this for your first ride.

i think this is a great ride for starters, you dont get that feeling in your stomach, but once you go on any ride with that feeling, the rest of the times your body gets used to it so you dont even feel it, well barely, this wasnt my first ride, talon at dorney park was my first upsidedown ride then it was hydra, first ride here was bizarro!

Sorry for the slow reply. Many people find it more intense because you are hanging instead of having a seat under you. I don't really find either scary, so I am kind of a bad person to judge. If you want to ride it don't make it your first ride of the day, start with some rides your comfortable with, then head over. Grab a row in the middle of the ride and one of the inside seats that way it won't freak you out too much.

Steve was a professional coaster rider. Hundreds of coasters, and perhaps tens of thousands of rides. As for the others in the front row it was about their third ride in a row, with the train stopping only long enough to change video tapes.

If you have experience on other bigger/faster coasters this one is fairly tame in comparison. The only thing that can freak you out is you are hanging under the coaster instead of sitting on the coaster. Just stay away from the front row and sit on an inside seat for your first ride.

@ANM98 nah. this ride isn't scary at all. they say its a big drop but it doesnt feel like it. if ur like scared about the big drop, look at the person next to u and it jut feels like wind in ur face :) thts wat i did the first time i went on. the upside down loop feels like ur going to fall out from ur seat, but u can just push back in ur chair or push the chair as tight as it can go before u go 'superman style'

and watching that was the exact excitement level you actually experience on the ride. it's by far the slowest and lamest ride in the park, i wouldn't wait even a minute to ride it. the only time i ever got a little excited was during the loop BUT only if your sitting in the last car. did both the front and last and it is definitely the way to go.
