This is an absolutely amazing video and a very sad story at the same time. I am sorry your family will not accept you or talk to you. I wish you nothing but absolute happiness and peace in your life! As a newly out trans man myself, I know what it is like to have a mother not talk to you. Various reasons why but she knows nothing of my transition yet. Keep your head up and be proud of the man you have become!!!
I havent come out to my family yet. Im pretty sure theyd act the same way. Theyve already said if i were anything other than a straight female ill be kicked out. Female=good. Male=murder. Glad you got yer wish. Really happy fer ya. ^^
As a Transguy myself, I am not out to my family yet. My mom and her mom's family is religious and ever since I came out as a lesbian 5 years ago, they have judged and criticized and hated. My Dad hasn't done that. But he thinks that people who change their gender are interfering with God's plan. I cried as I watched this, and I am man enough to admit it. I am so proud of you and I hope that one day your parents will open their eyes.
wow I dont have the words to exspress the emotions that I get from this video.....Only tears flow cause I myself came out as a lesbian last year & I have recieved so much greif for my choice. But the 4 really important people in my life except me & didnt turn their backs on me, My 2 babies & my parents. The rest of my family can deal with their shame within. I'm so proud of you for who you are and what you have done....LOVE this video! Thanks Erica
Okay, so I had to stop this video to comment on it before I had a heart attack, first of I LOVE SHINEDOWN they're amazing. I love what I've seen so far, especially the billboards thing, this video is probably my favorite (: -3 btw I am also an Ftm (:
I have disliked gay people in the past... I am ashamed to say.... There is God and love in EVERYBODY!! This video touched me... I'm sorry.... I will never again pass judgement on others by the way they look.... think.... feel...
This made me want to cry. In my opinion they shouldn't have given up on you if they really did love you. I'm sorry to say but personal happiness trumps making others happy. I'm not part of the LGBT community, but I will NEVER disown either of my children based on such a realization. I too don't have parents b/c I decided to not be a statistic by getting married before children & going to college. Only 2 of us are doing this out of 6 & we are the ones disowned. Parents should love no matter what.
People should live their lives the way they want to, and you are such a strong person for that! You are an inspiration to everyone afraid to follow their hearts, and if other people cant see that then thats their problem. Thank you for this video, it was amazing
This video really made me cry~ that was tears of joy, tears of sorrow~ And when appeared the photo of you after the operation I though I was about to cry my eyes out~ I'm happy for you~
And I hope one day will my wishes comes true too~

Good for you, chick pea! This was a real tear-jerker for me. I'm comfortable with my female body, but nothing's better than being 'mistaken' for a guy.
Thank you for posting this, it was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You are an inspiration to people like me. <3
@Angelwings8888 you are right God gave us the Bible to guide us but also to tell us what no to do and what to do. i swear i know how it feels to hurt deeply inside and wanting to change things about yourself and like you said God is a forgiving God but one thing God wont forgive you is if you commit suicide because you took your life and you can't ask him to forgive you but everything you guys said was true but we're not being judgmental at all because people go through things its life tho
@Angelwings8888 its okay to state what the Bible says. i personally agree to what you are trying to get out to people because to some people it is hard being teased and put down and hurt by others because people are so cruel it doesn't make any sense. but at the same time you have to look at it in a different way because God said he will not put too much on you than you can bare which means if you just put your trust in him he will guide you in the right direction.
@Angelwings8888 You are so ignorant of your Bible. Yes Jesus did love everyone and so do I. But Jesus NEVER EVER ignored and tolerated their sin. He always cast out the demon (when applicable) and always told them to turn from their evil ways. If you saw a blind man unknowingly walk out in front of a moving semi wouldn't you stop him? This is all I am doing. The Bible tells us to be our brothers keeper. We are supposed to find lost souls and help get them back on track. Truth can hurt.
@Angelwings8888 It is sin to change your gender and it is sin to be homosexual. BE CLEAR on this!. I am not beating up on her!!! I am trying to give a warning and rethink this. Check out the bible first. You don't think she is already under oppression and depression? Did you see her wrist? She attempted suicide. That same spirit is leading her further down the wrong path. I do love her like Jesus. I love her enough to tell her the truth in spite of the flack I will get. I am trying to save her
It fights for your dreams and ideal. Up to thinking this person that you are really. I congratulate you. All that is very touching in spite of that not padesco nothing of these things I feel that I can understand you and to feel everything what you have suffered and what surely you must follow suffering. It know that there is someone of Argentina that wishes the better thing you. Besotes.
you are very beautiful. with this you have touched in deep of my soul. So much that even manages to cry of the emotion.I am Argentine and though not padesco nothing of this I understand you very much to you and to all those who have the same condition. You are an angel warrior and as such your integrity continues fighting for you for your happiness and do not stop q anybody but nobody makes you feel the opposite.
I feel sorry for people like u. to be clear, I don't hate gays, I hate what they do. I know the Bible and the Bible teaches against such actions. It is a Demonic deception that leads ppl to doing such things. Gays often feel so depressed because they do not know God. And Homophobe? A word gays made up to tag ppl who simply know better. Again, I don't hate u. I would like nothing more than to help u. Repent. Ask Jesus to forgive u and be the girl u are as bst u can. U may b possesed. I seen it b4

@SiillieeKidd Thank you for seeing the truth. This is not a "hate" thing as some see it. If I hated this person I would not bother and would sit back and laugh and considering what the Bible say I would let them go on to destruction. But I care enough to tell the Bible truth and it is clear on this issue. The trouble is, some people want to take a few scriptures on mercy and make a salvational doctrine out of it while totally ignoring the Bibles writing on sin. Read Acts 2:38 for salvation
@morningside60 - Read 2 Cor 6:17. For that matter all of chapter 6. I am not judging anyone. The Bible has already judged us all and if you know your Bible you would know the Apostle Paul addressed homosexuality. Remember Sodom and Gamorrah? It was a city filled with sin. The majority of the sin was sodomy, hence the name Sodom. The city was full of homosexuals of both sides. God destroyed the city. And got does not tell us to be tolerant of sinners. If you think it does then read 2Cor 6:14-18
@morningside60 2 Thess 3:14-15 is talking to believers as it says, "And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother."Correct this person, admonish him, and do it in meekness and in the fear of the Lord. Every time you disobey God’s Word, you give Satan an opening. The Bible warns you, neither give place to the devil.
@Glockster777 don't worry about the people that are cursing you out and talking trash because they're on the other side of the world they can't touch you which mean you have the right to do and say what you please no matter if you agree to what they're saying or you don't and those who are going against our God will face him one day and regret what they are saying you do not have to be against gays to state what the Bible says and you tell them before you judge someone take a look at yourself
@Glockster777 GO KILL YOUSELF! Seriously, " U may b possesed" Are you fucking stupid?! He is not possesed, he is happy there is a big difference! And Gays don't fell depressed because they don't know God in fact i Know Gay people who came from relgious familys and despite all they have been though still go to chruch. They felt depressed because of people like you! Because the people they love either abandend them or beat them them abanend them.
Hi, I'm 15 years old, my name is Jamison, I am a transsexual female to male. I have not started testosterone or had surgery. My parents, they think I am just a tomboy, or butch lesbian. My father is a homophobe so probably transphobe too. My mother doesn't understand trans people. She once said to me "I don't know how that happens" and I explained it to her, the topic never came up since.. I am out to my aunt, brother and friends. The life of a transperson is in fact a difficult life.
Kaleb, this video brought tears to my eyes... thank you for sharing it. Congratulations on your victories and consolation for the separation from family. I waited until my parents were long dead before I transitioned... I was so afraid of them and did not have the strength that you did. I tried so hard to deny what I was... I now have myself. Be happy.
I TOTALLY LOVE THIS!!!! It's funny how I found your video...I saw "Shinedown Second Chance..." in the title of your video and clicked on it cause I love that song. It's a very moving video and yes, someday you'll be a family again. It's ironic that you made this video with this very song because I have performed this song as a bio-king (I'm not a girl so I'm not a drag king) while wearing my sash and crown the very night I was crowned as Mr. Gay Pride Portland XIII (June 18th, 2010)
@Goshdangit69: Are you calling Kaleb a narcissist? Why would you call him that? I'm not trying to start anything with you nor trying to be disrespectful...just wanting to know what your train of thought would be to call someone that has lost the love of both parents just because he wants to be mentally, physically and emotionally happy a narcissist? Is it because he tried to end his own life or is it because he turned to alcohol/drugs or is it that he wanted to share his life story?
I'm a bisexual girl, who for the most part is 'gender neutral'. I know I am female, but identify with males far more. I don't really wish to be transgendered though I'd be most comfortable as a cross-dresser. However, I know for a fact that my mother and father would disown me, if I went through the FTM operations. Though I cannot offer empathy in the pains, I can offer sympathy for the problems and trials, respect for the bravery of being who you are, and most of all, support for your decisions
It is a pity that sometimes the nature sends to the person such serious tests. :( To difficultly me to present, the person should check up what internal pain to sustain so a physical pain from surgical operations. Very much it would be desirable, that this person at last was happy.
Violent attack against a trans FTM student at Cal State Long Beach that happened April 15th. The student was attacked on his way to the bathroom. The attackers beat him, ripped off his clothes and carved the word "IT" into his chest." Attackers not caught, story not picked up by the media, so please COPY & PASTE
Hey, I hope you have found comfort with your brothers, uncles, aunts, and sisters in the GLBTQ community. I have found friends who are now family to me. I hope for you that your parents come around. Delete all these negative comments though, you don't need this bullshit.
@jdk946: Apparently you don't get the point if you're concerned about pictures of him being naked. It's part of the transition process of showing both sides of the "coin".
how much does a boob job like this cost? How much does getting your hormones cost?Someone tell me please. And answers like "a lot"are not good enough.I really need to know.
it's called chest or "top" surgery and usually averages around 5500-10000 depending of surgeon, type of surgery and body type. testosterone also depends. i live in sf bay area and my insurance covers it so i only pay $30 for a 5 months supply. if it's not covered by insurance or even available through a pharmacy in your area, you can get it through strohecker's pharmacy for about twice as much. there are also a lot of clinics out there that will provide it for free if you don't have insurance
i just caught your video. i watched it about 5 times. i am the girlfriend of a ftm guy and it made me cry... i hope all works out for you and take care. your awsome for posting this!! i subscribed to you. keep up the vids.
Hey, i really enjoyed watching this video too. it brings out alot of memories. im really happy for you, you know, getting through the process and showing everyone what its really like.
i started crying when i saw the blue ballon that said " its a boy"
thank you for your vids man.. and for posting this one on april 30th, thats my birthday.. thank u for educating ppl on the real and SAD facts. much <3
Man, I can NEVER get enough of Shinedown!!! Music I could listen to till I die! lol! Thanks for sharing the vid! If you have time check out another fav of mine, they have a brand spankin new vid, just search for "Can't Hate You + Brandon Paris Band" They're pop/rock/reggae, i love 'em!
like most of the other commenters, i found this to be very touching video. i felt like i saw much of my experience mirrored in what you showed. I'm really happy that trans folk are sharing their voices.
wow... I can barely type this message because of the tears that filled my eyes. That was very touching. You have had a very nice transition. Hope you get your family again soon. Keep your head up buddy :)
Heya i'm only 14 but i know that i love girls more then boys but i dunno how to tell my parents and do know if it's just a phase. This song and all the pic's throughout your life has given me strength to carry on living happy and strong... thanx for the inspiration. xxx
As a mom of a FTM I am amased by how many trans people that told me that they are not accepted by their own family. I just can't imagine doing that. He is still the same person I gave birth to...just much happier now.
@tin1999 Thats really great that you support your son. You should be proud of yourself...cuz many parents are not as strong and open minded as you are.
PS: I'm a Transsexual woman. My mom supports me....and is she even has offered to help pay for some of the medical fees related to transtion. :)
I'm moving out this month so i can transition. I'm scared as shit. They have me so convinced that i need to be their little girl, but i have to be my own man. I think of this song to give me courage.
WOW! That was excellent! I just came out of the closet in January, it was this song that gave me the courage. I was scared of losing my family and friends, but I didn't... it was such a relief. I am sorry that you didn't have as much luck with your fam... Stay strong!
(continued again)...but my point is that one day I want to be like you; I want to have been able to overcome the worse points in life and be open to talk about them - PROUD to talk about them - with other people. I know this means completely abandoning my old life and most of my old friends/acquaintainces, but I feel that it's a worthy sacrifice to be able to be who I am.
Congratulations to you for being able to do what you do and be who you are, and to be proud of it.
(Continued)...you are with the shit that's happened in your own life. Right now, I'm trudging through high school (I'm a junior now) with the phrase "just wait until graduation. Wait until graduation. "I'm incredibly scared of what college will bring - not for the 'college' aspect, but for the coming out aspect. Of telling people about myself, because for as long as I can remember, I've kept *everything* a secret. I'm a very secretive person. So...yea, this is a long comment. BUt my point is..
I know man. I'm a junior in high school as well, and lucky for me I don't have to hide the real me. I'm still in transition, and it can be a struggle, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
This is extremely powerful. I've never had a role model before because i"m very independent, but I think you might be mine. One day I want to come out (in college), I want to be myself, and I want people to accept me. I want the courage to be able to tell people who and what I am without hiding, which is the complete opposite of what I'm like today. Today, I hide everything. I repress everything bad and negative due to a lot of shit that's happened to me. I'm extremely jealous of how open....
Kaleb, I am so sorry your parents don't understand. Don't let them take your JOY. This is your life to live as you see fit. It is their loss. You seem like a very brave person. Love and support to you!!!! Becks
wow, I had to watch it twice to see all the text. It is a very brave video. I am glad that I could watch it. BTW, may I ask how old you were when you started feeling like you were in the wrong body? Thanks for sharing the video.
btw. i know what it's like to not hear that my mom loves me... i heard it last time when i was 10.. thats 12 years ago... i think i know a lil bit how you feel....
keep it right for yourself, you're so strong and amazing!
Wow really intense. This hits home a bit and you are amazing for sharing your struggles and pain. Big hugs and congrats on top surgery. Hang in there bro
song please?

Gay Pride Portland XIII (June 18th, 2010)

dumb ass narcissism!!!!!!
Goshdangit69 1 year ago
@Goshdangit69: Are you calling Kaleb a narcissist? Why would you call him that? I'm not trying to start anything with you nor trying to be disrespectful...just wanting to know what your train of thought would be to call someone that has lost the love of both parents just because he wants to be mentally, physically and emotionally happy a narcissist? Is it because he tried to end his own life or is it because he turned to alcohol/drugs or is it that he wanted to share his life story?
RyvalTheology 1 year ago
I'm a bisexual girl, who for the most part is 'gender neutral'. I know I am female, but identify with males far more. I don't really wish to be transgendered though I'd be most comfortable as a cross-dresser. However, I know for a fact that my mother and father would disown me, if I went through the FTM operations. Though I cannot offer empathy in the pains, I can offer sympathy for the problems and trials, respect for the bravery of being who you are, and most of all, support for your decisions
BritaniaAngel 1 year ago 2
It is a pity that sometimes the nature sends to the person such serious tests. :( To difficultly me to present, the person should check up what internal pain to sustain so a physical pain from surgical operations. Very much it would be desirable, that this person at last was happy.

This is such attention seeking drivel, is it really necessary to post pictures of yourself semi-naked, we get the point.

Who is this "we" you're on about?
You speak for yourself. No one made you spokesperson for them.
MrSonicAdvance 1 year ago
@jdk946: Apparently you don't get the point if you're concerned about pictures of him being naked. It's part of the transition process of showing both sides of the "coin".

it's called chest or "top" surgery and usually averages around 5500-10000 depending of surgeon, type of surgery and body type. testosterone also depends. i live in sf bay area and my insurance covers it so i only pay $30 for a 5 months supply. if it's not covered by insurance or even available through a pharmacy in your area, you can get it through strohecker's pharmacy for about twice as much. there are also a lot of clinics out there that will provide it for free if you don't have insurance

Congratulations to you for being able to do what you do and be who you are, and to be proud of it.
andiidude 2 years ago
(Continued)...you are with the shit that's happened in your own life. Right now, I'm trudging through high school (I'm a junior now) with the phrase "just wait until graduation. Wait until graduation. "I'm incredibly scared of what college will bring - not for the 'college' aspect, but for the coming out aspect. Of telling people about myself, because for as long as I can remember, I've kept *everything* a secret. I'm a very secretive person. So...yea, this is a long comment. BUt my point is..
andiidude 2 years ago
I know man. I'm a junior in high school as well, and lucky for me I don't have to hide the real me. I'm still in transition, and it can be a struggle, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
jcac1023 2 years ago
This is extremely powerful. I've never had a role model before because i"m very independent, but I think you might be mine. One day I want to come out (in college), I want to be myself, and I want people to accept me. I want the courage to be able to tell people who and what I am without hiding, which is the complete opposite of what I'm like today. Today, I hide everything. I repress everything bad and negative due to a lot of shit that's happened to me. I'm extremely jealous of how open....
