  • MP was the greatest illustrator of the first half of the 20th century. And, I think, the greatest landscape painter who ever lived.

  • Love Your Channel....The Moody Blues were the best to come out of the 60s...I lived it. Subbed You. Jo.

  • this was a very good video, and a great song by the Moodys!

  • @elvidinck Excellent ....... Jo.

  • Unfortunately Disconet is no longer. A sad day for DJs worldwide. Some of their works were simply amazing. ABBA's "Lay All Your Love On ME" and Laura Branigan's "Solitaire" were among their BEST!!!

  • Ah, the electro-era-candy of Moodies nouveau -- new treats for us ushered in by their leap of consciousness as Moodies nouveau set sail -- this song really begin the journey in earnest, though Long Distance Voyager foreshadowed it with Patrick Moraz who, bless him, bridged the Moodies to a wider genre of audience -- this song gives homage to the New Economic Paradigm. Moodies would be the messenger for that, yet it might have been Jeff Airplane or another of the inactive beacons of light.

  • @davidfaubion The New Economic Paradigm is really the oldest one: Giving without measure Gives in return a wondrous year for peace(approximately) almost seen--live hand in hand and will stand on the Threshold of a Dream -- now you know how nice it feels -- living all your life a dream -- each day has its own way -- eternity is waiting, waiting for me and you ... love peace and OM

  • @davidfaubion Today, i feel like pleasing you more than before... with You standing there i can almost reach out and start to cry .. well, this looks like a love song --a man and woman or other man -- yet can as well be about a volunteer in rapturous yearning to help somebody up -- It is a new world of giving, loving, caring -- that is the revolution, it is so huge you may have missed it, it the giving without measure was so big -- most of the super-rich missed it -- their big overshadows ours

  • Blue Man Group should do this song...with their signature PVC percussion.

  • Heck they are to good for HOF. Stones suck

  • Great song! and Flitster5 your right His voice is great!

  • I adore Maxfield Parrish and the music of the Moody Blues-what a magical combination! Thank you so much.

  • Hi.

I have seen this song set to many videos on Youtube, and so far, this is the best. I love Maxfield Parrish and the art work is lovely, but every time I hear this song, I am reminded of the 'Legend of Zelda' video game series, and I'm wondering why someone hasn't posted this song set to clips from those video games? There are so many elements in the song lyrics which are also core to the games; keys, marble halls, voices, etc. Just curious, that's all. Regards, Anna

  • Thank you so much for sharing your marvelous work! I have seen The Moodies several times. But surgeons have crippled my spine and caused pain that cannot be controlled. So I will never again see them live. All I can do now is listen and remember. But YOU have made more options possible with your vids: outstanding and brilliant! Their lyrics on many songs are profound, etheral, inspiring, haunting and beautiful. Way ahead of their time from the start! No Hall of Fame: JUST HORRIFIC! PEACE Y

  • @pasnowqueen Yes..it is appalling. Grand master Flash, john mellencap, The Lovin Spoonful (who have not been active in 30 years), and of all people MADONNA inducted BEFORE The Moody Blues....insanity.

  • @DavelovesRealMusic Oh Yes.....Appalling is an understatement! madonna of all people...I'm with you on that score!!...:( wow where is the reward for the beautiful heartfelt lyrics...the years of touring.....the years of putting out the very best in progressive/classical rock. I guess it is in our hearts, and in all of their audiences and fans who cherish them and their marvelous recordings. What stamina and devotion they all posess! Can't say that about many more. Boy, I miss Ray:((

  • @pasnowqueen Even if they are not 'fond" of 'art rock" the number of HIT songs as songwriters the Moody's have had should have automatically given them the invite into the HOF years ago. "Tues Afteroon," "Nights", "Question", "The Voice" "Wildest Dreams" etc etc. jan Wenner has hid head up his arse. And I too Miss Ray..the always forgotten member it seems. great song writer as well.

  • @DavelovesRealMusic Amen!!! You know, as far as Ray is concerned, from some of the things I read Justin say, I think there was a bit of a rift. Not just early retirement. He's a bit sarcastic as he refers to those "who want to tour", and consistently leaves Ray out as if he never existed. Don't get me wrong, Norda is talented. But for Ray, why not credit this quiet talented soul? He was a member before Justin came along. And if there had to be a replacement, I wonder why not Jethro Tull?

  • @pasnowqueen Jethro Tull ( really it is JUST ian Anderson working under that name now) will probably NEVER be inducted. IAN despises commercial songs and has ALWAYS his entire career only written songs he considers good music.

I beleive Ray has had health issues and is really unable to tour as OFTEN as The Moody schedule demands. At one point Mike Pinder wanted to rejoin and I beleive the powers (John and Justin) felt he has been gone a LONG time and it would be another body to pay. (un-needed

  • @DavelovesRealMusic Oh I know it is Ian Anderson. Some where I thought I read where he would have accepted if asked. Yes, Ray has gout and other problems, (diabetes?) but I sense an under current when his name comes up. You are right, another body to pay, yet Mike was an original member. They certainly helped Graeme out though with another back up drummer, which is good. I guess they need the money for their toys as they call them lol.

  • @DavelovesRealMusic ray walks with a cane and appears to be out of the picture [ they dont do his songs anymore ] this is the first i ever heard that mike wanted to be back in the group

  • @spacepatrolman It is well known among Moody circles that there were several phone calls and even a meeting between justin, john and MIKE to discuss bringing him back...but plans did not work out. Those talks were BEFORE ray retired. Now it would not really make much sense sinde RAY is not really able to tour..maybe a one night onljy reunion,.,,,but that is a WISH at the moment not anything factual.

  • @DavelovesRealMusic if you like art rock listen to another day another lifetime by the david and black roses by clear light

  • @DavelovesRealMusic watch, the industry exposed . Evil people and these guys are the good guys. Madonna was poster child just like GAGA is now. Eviil world Moody blues where a ray of light.

  • even a dance mix is fabulous! why have these wonderful musicians not been given a much needed award, one that says "well done for 40 years of fantastic work"! Am i the only one?

  • NO, you are not the only one! I am appalled that they are not in the Hall of Fame.....disgusting.

  • GREAT lyrics....poetic ear candy that's right to the point of the message, without being overladen with 'flowery nonsense'.BRILLIANT!

  • I find it hard to believe that this is a professional remix. I am a sound engineer working for local bands and I could do a better and smoother job of the mixdown on this. And I guarantee you I am an expert on the Moody's and their music. Most people talk of lyrics, when musically and mixwise they were FAR ahead of their time in the old days. Of course the lyrics were incredible, but the technology that they helped pioneer for their style of music is commonly overlooked.

  • sometimes the joy of a remix is the imperfection that comes along with it.

  • As much as the Moodies are/were my favorite band, I have to say that their lyrical ability at times fell short of their musicality which was always, in my opinion, far ahead of most other bands.

  • KumariFarscape wrote, "I am a sound engineer working for local bands and I could do a better and smoother job of the mixdown on this."

Ok, Kumari. Do it. Can't wait to hear it, especially since you are "an expert on the Moody's and their music."

  • Love this video - thank you for sharing! MoodyBluesFan.

  • I love your choice of music and slide collection, this is more my style of favourite watching.. thanx

  • What an appropriate mix - Moody Blues = beautiful and ethereal and Maxfield Parrish= beautiful and ethereal. Breathtaking!

  • This song is amazing. I can't quite describe how I feel when I listen to it...

While I love a lot of different music the Moody Blues are still my very favorites.

  • i just recently found all these WONDERFUL Moodies videos. My only PROBLEM is that, when I fell IN LOVE with these guys and their music, it was with headphones on - and the "video", if required, was only provided by me and Dr. Leary. I just find it too bad that we/they can't just HEAR IT. The MUSIC these guys - and ALL of them - wrote and produced was never meant to be "seen". (Ya know?)

  • @LarryTheCitizen: I know what you mean! "Videos not required"! I remember seeing my first MB video "Sitting at the Wheel" and thinking I liked the music better w/o video! But I have a feeling Maxfield Parrish would have loved the Moody Blues and would've given permission to use his paintings! They fit perfectly with the music!

  • I'm glad I found this. Very nice work. The "professor" is impressed. Thanks.

  • Love Maxfield Parrish and the Moody Blues. Thanks for posting!

  • Wonderful collection of Parrish art! The selections are nicely synched to the music, too. Thanks for your efforts.

  • this is a band that deserves the best of the best that the world can offer them! they have meant so much to so many people over the years, they need a very distinct award!

  • A dream in blue...

Thankyou to my lovely friend, lapislazuline for this wonderful share.

Tonight I will dream in Lapislazuline

    from Midnight Blue to Indigo

    Azure to Cerulean

    and all the hues

    of Moody Blues

    around and in-between.

  • they named a shade of blue after this painter, "Parrish Blue"

It's a Moody Parrish Blues World, thank you :-)

  • This one is as good as the old Moody Blues,

Which I so much prefer. Late Sixties, EARLY

Seventies. Then after that, just like so many greats, the became just another top 40

Band. Yeah, I'm old. so sue me

  • Justin Hayward is a voice phenominom

  • i agree! this song should have inducted them into the hall of fame! we all have to love the music!

  • Great Justin

  • Thank you for so many dreamy Maxfield Parrish worlds. There's something so magical about his artwork. The colors, the backdrops, the visceral nature of his images. To me, he is one of the greatest artists.

  • This song is creepy but very baddass. haunting melody.

  • Could you please put " MEET ME HALFWAY" from The Present album on here. that is a great song.

  • Love the Moody Blues and Maxfield Parrish, together they are just divine. Thank you, so much for posting this fabulous video.

  • this song grabbed my heart the day i first heard it and has never let go. i pray i'll get to see them live before something happens to me. i've been waiting for 33 years to see them.

  • Simply marvelous my dear! Thanks so much!

  • the pictures are lovely

  • Thank you lapis for this fab send! I love it. :)

  • The first time I saw The Moodies was on The Present tour and I remember loving this song. I also remember that they opened with "Sitting At The Wheel" which was just incredible. I've seen them three times since and hope to see them again in two month's time. Great video, thanks for posting it!

  • Every time i hear this song my eye get full of tears, it brings me back so many feelings of the past!!!!!...life passes so fast!

  • That is Moody Blues as I remember them, but then again I am old too.

  • Just GREAT !!!! THANKS, I have been a fan of The moody Blues since I was 17 and that was such a long time ago! I LOVE Justin, wonderful voice and what a handsome man!

  • LSD was teribal on the people who used it but it did give us some very good music for example:

  • Great work of art with a deep message..

  • Thank you. This must have took some time to produce, fascinating.

  • That was excellent! One of my favorite Moodies songs. I now have a deeper appreciation of Parrish as well. Love how you 'take a bow' at the end! ;-)
