  • Very well done !

  • damn, that's beautiful

  • You play divinely well.

You heared everything in the Piece. VERY great work of transcribing.

You also not even missed one single note.

You have a very nice touching, It's really, really great.

I've got the same sport as you. But I am ashamed of showing it : you know what it is : impro, impro...

I play the album : Mellow Mood.

    And I love it.

I've recorded the whole trio in Cubase and sometimes I dream of being a genius.

What is your Piano ? It is really great also.

  • That's really cool! How long have you been playing jazz?

  • Admirable playing. I agree, I don't usually like transcriptions, but this was like Horowitz performing Chopin, it definitely added something to the music and as a version of the song.

  • Hey man, very nice work!

I've always wanted to transcribe a solo piano piece but it is quite a daunting task. Do you write down the notes, and if so, how do you write down the more freely played passages?

That would really help me! Thanks in advance.

  • @MonkeyMaarten Hey, thanks!

I write the free parts like cadenza bars, they look like a liszt work, for example the hungarian rhapsodies.

  • Awesome.

  • Incredible.

  • Really great. Very nice technique and feel. Well done. I'm not usually impressed with people's transcriptions, but this one I was moved by. Thanks!

  • My favourite part is the key change at 2:42. If only you had a better audio recording. The digital camera mic doesn't do your wonderful playing justice. I'd love to hear you play Bill Evans solo piano.

  • dontheshark -- You have a wonderful touch. Keep it up.

  • My compliment!!

  • Great performance! What more can I say!

  • OUtstanding!!! I love how you rocked that Classic Oscar Peterson ron at 59 second mark. WELL Done man!!!!

  • @phanjazm

Thanks! i glad you like it!

  • To transcribe an arrangement like that clearly is a skill in its own right. You must have exceptional listening skills. I assume that you transcribed it. If you didn't and you read someones elses transcription work then great reading skills. Some very clever work allround. I enjoyed it. Great stuff!!

  • @themusicbuff

transcribing saves practising time. You have the piece already in your heart and mind and get it quickly in your fingers.

  • Great work !

  • thanks for the nice comments!

  • Wow....great rendition of the Oscar Peterson solo....you have amazing technique...and really capture Oscar's mood and presence

  • Love this song. Its so relaxing and peaceful. You have great technique. I was wondering if you could possibly send me a copy of this song. I want to transcribe it but i have so much school work i just dont seem to have time. Thank you and keep up the great work. = )

  • you are very good but body and soul is a ballad, you have completely destroyed this song

  • you should probably take that up with oscar peterson

  • I'm writing that sheet music now

  • have fun! it is a great learning experience...

  • Very good Oscar spirit ! You've completed the solo song book wich wasn't without sense

    Bravo !

    Watch out my video !

    Regards

    Sergio Forte

  • You tricked my ears into thinking somebody else was playing....!!!

  • Splitting emulation of the solo...Oh my God! Oscar Peterson lives!

  • Great Job on a classic track!!!

  • VERY well played!!!

  • are you a teacher?

  • Thanks - Have to prepare a lot other things right now, but currently working on "Who Can I Turn To" as well.

  • hi pal! you play a lot!! :)

when did you start to play? how many years since then?

that music is 5 sheets isn't it?

coze im practicing on a version that is similar to that one...but i think its a little incomplete...you are a great pianist for sure!!

    Best wishes and Congratulations!!

  • hi - thanks for your comment - I started 25 yrs ago to play (at age 7). I am using my own transcription (which is about 12 pages), not the one published in japan.

    greetings!

  • WOW! Great playing and transcription work like in your fantastic Perdido-Vid. I think the recordings for MPS with Hans Georg Brunner Schwer as recording engineer are the best in the countless recordings from Oscar Peterson.

  • Thank you! I have two letters Brunner Schwer wrote me in 2003 and 2004 when I was doing research about that solo album. He told me that Oscar didn't do second takes. When he wasn't happy with a song he did, he just tried a different song. Quite remarkable, isn't it?
