Admirable playing. I agree, I don't usually like transcriptions, but this was like Horowitz performing Chopin, it definitely added something to the music and as a version of the song.
I've always wanted to transcribe a solo piano piece but it is quite a daunting task. Do you write down the notes, and if so, how do you write down the more freely played passages?
My favourite part is the key change at 2:42. If only you had a better audio recording. The digital camera mic doesn't do your wonderful playing justice. I'd love to hear you play Bill Evans solo piano.
To transcribe an arrangement like that clearly is a skill in its own right. You must have exceptional listening skills. I assume that you transcribed it. If you didn't and you read someones elses transcription work then great reading skills. Some very clever work allround. I enjoyed it. Great stuff!!
Love this song. Its so relaxing and peaceful. You have great technique. I was wondering if you could possibly send me a copy of this song. I want to transcribe it but i have so much school work i just dont seem to have time. Thank you and keep up the great work. = )
WOW!I am really impressed of your playing, great swing, technique and the real Oscar sound too!Is there a chance to have that transcription? many thanks
Oh what an excellent and ambitious album to take apart! You're doing a great job with your transcriptions! Please keep this up and keep us updated!! It's truly an inspiration to see someone doing these transcriptions!!!!
hi - thanks for your comment - I started 25 yrs ago to play (at age 7). I am using my own transcription (which is about 12 pages), not the one published in japan.
WOW! Great playing and transcription work like in your fantastic Perdido-Vid. I think the recordings for MPS with Hans Georg Brunner Schwer as recording engineer are the best in the countless recordings from Oscar Peterson.
Thank you! I have two letters Brunner Schwer wrote me in 2003 and 2004 when I was doing research about that solo album. He told me that Oscar didn't do second takes. When he wasn't happy with a song he did, he just tried a different song. Quite remarkable, isn't it?
Very well done !

You play divinely well.
You heared everything in the Piece. VERY great work of transcribing.
You also not even missed one single note.
You have a very nice touching, It's really, really great.
I've got the same sport as you. But I am ashamed of showing it : you know what it is : impro, impro...
I play the album : Mellow Mood.
And I love it.
I've recorded the whole trio in Cubase and sometimes I dream of being a genius.
What is your Piano ? It is really great also.

That would really help me! Thanks in advance.

@MonkeyMaarten Hey, thanks!
I write the free parts like cadenza bars, they look like a liszt work, for example the hungarian rhapsodies.

transcribing saves practising time. You have the piece already in your heart and mind and get it quickly in your fingers.
