  • that rockin motion is making it too easy, should be going down to box touching it then going up not rocking back and forth like that.. too much momentum...

  • ive been doing box squats for a while now but i dont come up off my feet when i squat down, i kinda feel like that would be bad for ur spine. does it really matter or its just ur preferance of doing the squat?

  • He takes his feet off the floor to make sure he breaks the eccentric/concentric motion up...it's a power move you don't want to use any momentum or have your stretch reflex help you squat the weight back up.

  • @kozz1984 it's not needed though. you lose all momentum once you actually sit on the box, as long as you don't touch and go it. the leg lift actually ADDS momentum to the lift buddy.

  • I think he lifts his legs to make it appear more parrallel. that box is def. higher than 15".

  • the lifting the legs helps you explode up into the lift... almost adding a box jump takeoff effect

  • It's actually 18". I have those exact same boxes. The full set go 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 42 inches.
